MCS
Heroes of the Week

Ali Bray

Congratulations to this week's Heroes Juliet and Ali. We hope you enjoy your up-close parking spot.

A Note to Juliet Sanita, Art Teacher:
Juliet, You have this gift of making every student feel like their artwork is a masterpiece and that they can do anything. You desire to bring out that creative side in each student and it shows. Students walk away from your class not only more talented in art but feeling like they have a new outlet, a new appreciation for art, and even gifts they didn't realize they had. Your drive to bring art to all learners and heart to provide this creative avenue to all students is admirable and it makes a great impact! I wish you could teach the staff some art skills because what you do with the students in your class is exceptional. Thank you Juliet, for striving to be your best. We are so lucky to have you at MCS!

Mrs. Sanita is a quiet force. First and foremost, she is a servant and this is evident in all that she does both in and out of the classroom. No one truly knows or understands the hours she dedicates to the art program as it often goes unrecognized. She has a very full schedule with very little time for transitions between classes and grade levels. This creates quite a bit of pressure and additional responsibilities but she does it all joyfully and without complaint. She also does it with complete excellence! She wants what is best and right for kids, even if that requires personal sacrifice. She is tremendously gifted in her own right and she leads students to discover their giftings. She is willing to do anything necessary to cultivate student artists and we reap the benefits of her hard work, dedication, passions, and heart! There is so much more that can be said about Mrs. Sanita because there is so much that goes unnoticed. And that is exactly the way she wants it! That makes her all the more deserving of this special recognition. She is a hero!

Juliet-every word is true!!!! And there's absolutely more that can be said about you. Thank you for ALL you do! We hope this blesses you!

Ali Bray, Community Connector:
ALI ~ You are a constant example of God's goodness and love at MCS. We appreciate the way you gently guide and inspire students (and adults) to grow in their Christian walk. You cultivate experiences that allow us to grow closer to God as we grow as a community of believers in fellowship with one another. Thank you for your endless passion, positivity, and encouragement. We are in awe of all you do to make MCS amazing. JoyFULLY, the 5th Grade Team -

Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) Board  Leadership
Opportunities - Questionnaire Due Date Extended

Dear Mariners Christian School Family,

As we look towards the next school year at Mariners Christian School, we could not be more excited as we think about what God has in store for our children and community. The Parent Teacher Fellowship [PTF] plays an instrumental role by connecting our families in unique ways and enhancing the relationship between MCS families and the school with prayerful dependence on God. The PTF supports our school and teachers in order to enrich the children's education by providing parents with the opportunity to participate in daily school life, special events, and projects that contribute to the growth and success of the school. It is with great enthusiasm that we send you this letter to invite you to participate in the leadership of our Mariners Christian School Parent Teacher Fellowship for the upcoming school year...click for continuation of letter from Mr. Moore.

For further information about PTF, please refer to the following documents: The PTF Board Job Descriptions and The PTF 2017-18 Highlights. All parents interested in being considered for the PTF Board should complete the 2018-2019 PTF Board Questionnaire by

Pastors Breakfast and Chapel
MCS welcomed over 40 pastors and church leaders to campus on Monday, April 23rd, for our annual Pastors Breakfast and Chapel. Over breakfast in the MPR, they met other local church leaders, and heard from Mr. Moore about the Bright Future plans for MCS.

Our students joined them in the auditorium for an all-school chapel. Our Middle School Jazz Band started things off, and then our Middle School Worship Band continued the worship time. Mr. Moore conducted a Q & A session with our guests which included the silly and the serious side of being ministry leaders. Finally, our Middle School ASB Student Ministry Leaders led our staff and students in a prayer time over the whole group of leaders.

We are so blessed to have over 70 churches represented by our MCS families, and love the chance to honor and thank them for the way they serve their churches out of their love for Christ and His Kingdom.

Chapel Recap
Middle School was honored to welcome back eight MCS alum to share with us in Chapel this week.  The alum spoke about what MCS means to them and how God used their time here to shape them and solidify their faith for the next phase of their life. They shared different ways that God is using them where they are now to further His Kingdom. Our current students were also excited to hear about some of the alum's highlights of their time at MCS including Dodgeball, the yearly musicals, Chapels, the Sports Program, DC, Pine Valley, etc.  It was a unique and special time for us to come together as part of a bigger MCS family and hear from those who can speak truth and guidance from their own experience to our current students.

Thank you to Emma Hammond, Caroline Brewster, Samantha Brewster, Alex Ianni, John Herold, Tyler Kelly, and Owen Logan for sharing your morning with us!
