NO GLASS ALLOWED
STRIPE 2

Just the facts for today:

- This bottle (and several of its mates) were found in the trash by the BABY POOL yesterday.  No, we don't actively dig through the trash for glass but it makes a very distinctive sound when the lifeguards set a bag down on Concrete.

- No Glass is an industry standard.   This rule exists at EVERY other pool - many just don't allow coolers as a way to prevent glass

- Granite has had several past incidences of members & lifeguards cutting themselves on broken glass

- In 2014, Granite had to close for almost a week because of broken glass in the pool.  After draining, cleaning and tanker trucks of water to fill the pool, the cost to Granite was over $5,000 and days of lost fun.  Don't believe us?  Read about it here.

- No Glass means All glass - bottles, food jars, etc.

So, to repeat what we sent less than a month ago...

Bag & Cooler checks are a large inconvenience to the overwhelming majority who respect their fellow Granite members and the rules that help protect bare feet & hands.

For the pool :
The empty bottles left in the trash yesterday were Strike 2.
3 Strikes and the Bag & Cooler checks will begin.

For individuals:
The No Glass rule has always been in place and is very easy to comprehend, interpret & follow.  If you or a guest bring glass into the pool, you will be asked to immediately leave (along with your glass) for the remainder of the day.

If you see something, say something.
