An infrared photo of a Garden.  This is what a bee sees.

Not a branch. It's a mammoth tusk unearthed from the ground.

Not Legoland. It's a housing complex in San Buenaventura, Mexico.

B lue ice...the result of snow falling on a glacier becoming compressed.

This looks like a piece of art, but it's a honeycomb.
This giant cactus,
Pachycereus weberi, is native to Mexico and southern Arizona.
The stunning blue-ringed octopus, one of the most dangerous marine Animals.
The Iraqi Marshes: an aquatic landscape in a  desert climate.

The Multi-Talented Alexandra leads off the Movie Website with  :  "My partner, Hannah Sheridan, is half Cheyenne and half Kiowa born in El Reno, Oklahoma. Hannah joined the Navy the day after she graduated from high school, despite being a lesbian in the era of "Don't Ask Don't Tell". She endured the loss of her father and grandmother while serving her country. Your Way Back To Me is a documentary film that follows Hannah as she returns to Oklahoma to reconnect with her Native American roots and honor her deceased relatives." Photos by Alexandra Dietz

The 19,000-square-foot facility will more than double Mote's space for coral research and restoration efforts at its existing Summerland Key campus - one of five Mote sites in Florida - and provide an enhanced base of operations for collaborating scientists from around the world.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony Held on May 25 will allow Mote scientists, trustees, supporters and community leaders to celebrate and explore Mote's IC2R3 - a category-5 hurricane resistant facility with 30.1 kilowatt solar panels, a rainwater capture system and other eco-friendly features. The application process is under way to designate IC2R3 as the first LEED Gold facility in Monroe County.
Scientists at IC2R3 and its Goldstein Institute will advance coral reef research using: new seawater systems, raceways and experimental tanks for studying multiple reef species facing climate change impacts such as rising ocean temperatures and ocean acidification; molecular equipment to process and prepare samples for next generation sequencing and genomic analyses - for example, to find the best genetic strains of corals for reef restoration; microbial supplies for studying microscopic life forms that can help or harm coral reefs; a carbonate chemistry lab for ocean acidification research; and more. The facility offers classrooms and dormitories for visiting scientists and students.  Here is the  RIBBON CUTTING LINK to the usual Excellent E-Newsletters that Kaitlyn and Hayley Produce.

Key West Theater School for the Performing Arts Hosts Children's Summer Camp

The Key West Theater School for the Performing Arts will be holding a multidisciplinary theatrical summer camp from July 17-21. The camp will focus on teaching students acting, singing, and dancing as well as the vocabulary of the theater, in addition to how to collaborate, fail forward, and create their own art so they have a chance to live in the world successfully as artists, should they choose to do so. If they choose another path, they will still have a deep understanding of and appreciation for the arts and be able to apply the skills learned (collaboration, failing forward, and creating their own projects) to whatever career they choose.

Classes will be held daily from noon to 5pm and are open to students from age 8 to 18. The students will be divided into age groups (8-12 and 13-18) and will take all classes within those cohorts. In addition to courses on acting, singing, and dancing, every day there will be one class that is outside of the typical disciplines, including improvisation, songwriting, and storytelling. The Key West Theater School for the Performing Arts Summer Camp willbe the kick-off of additional year-round educational programming that will be added throughout the school year.

The Key West Theater School for the Performing Arts is located inside the Key West Theater at 512 Eaton Street in Old Town. For more information about the summer camp and to enroll, please contact Artistic Director Juliet Gray at juliet@thekeywesttheater.com or (305) 985-0433. Tuition is $250 and scholarship opportunities are available.
