From start to finish,  Seussical promises to be a fun journey for the whole family through the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss!
Congratulations to the five 7th grade finalists for being selected to represent Sea Crest School at the San Mateo County STEM Fair!
The Sea Crest Class of 2018 has set the bar high for the Class of 2019! There was much praise and adulation for all the thirty-nine science fair projects on display at the Sea Crest School Science Festival on January 19th.

Thanks to all volunteer judges (parents, faculty and staff) who took their task seriously, reading the projects and interviewing the students!
The five finalists are:
  • Olivia Cevasco -- Diabetes: A Bloody Mess, Non-Invasive Glucose Testing
  • Thomas Cevasco -- Is the Fresh Air Killing You? Radon a Deadly Gas
  • Callisto Lodwick -- Effects of different liquids on amount, pH, and specific gravity of urine
  • Matthew Spink -- True Green Hydro: Expanding the use of hydro electric power by going small and portable
  • Emma Steadman -- Cookie Sheet Bake-Off
Galileo's Ramp built during the Extended Day Program!
Lower school students proudly displayed and demonstrated during a K-8 assembly the Galileo's ramp they built in the iLab after school. They also explained the scientific theories behind their design and experiments!
Congratulations to Sea Crest alumnus Alan Ou (Class of 2016) who is a freshman at Junipero Serra High School. He earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average last semester!

Healthy Resilience 
Monday, February 6th, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.,  Think Tank  
Raising Healthy Kids is a workshop series for Kindergarten and First Grade parents. In this workshop, Keely Sikes Rollings, a li censed clinical psychologist and a Sea Crest parent for 13 years, will talk about why resilience is important and how to build it in your child to steer through serious life changes, bounce back and thrive.
Ladies Night Out (Aka Moms, Martinis and More!)
Thursday, February 9th, 7 :30 p.m., Home of Amy Ramsey
Join the women of Sea Crest and all of our favorite Coastside girlfriends for a fun-filled, well-deserved evening of eating, drinking and laughter! Transportation to and from the event will be provided from multiple locations on the coast (specific points to be determined closer to the event). Tickets are $75 per person. Click here to sign up.

Sweetheart Dance
Saturday, February 11th,  6:30 - 9:30 p.m., Kohrs Family Center 
This event is a special evening for   all daughters in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade and  a parent or other important role model! It promises to be a super fun evening with our very own DJ Beech, dancing, treats, activities, arts and crafts and more. Please join us for a memorable evening!

Tickets are $40 per pair with $20 for each additional person. A sign-up sheet and payment box will be located near the front desk until  Wednesday, February 8th . Please email Tanya Gulesserian with any questions.

Book Club.- Thanks to the parents who attended our book club this week!  The next session will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 4:30 p.m. and we will discuss Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age.

With the much needed rain, we have also received unexpected visitors: ants, and we need your help to control the invasion. Please make sure to pack all foods in ziploc bags inside your child's lunch boxes.
