LOYOLA AT THE MANKATO MARATHON
On Sunday Oct. 22 the Loyola Builder's and Key Clubs will host a cheer station for the Mankato Marathon.  This is an opportunity for Loyola students, families, alumni  and friends to show our support for the marathon runners.  The station will be in Sibley Park on the road in front of the barn and play area.  We encourage anyone/everyone to join us between the hours of 8:00 and 2:30.  Wear your Loyola Spirit wear and bring noise makers, musical instruments or anything you think of that will help motivate the runners! There is parking just before the arch by CHS. If you have any questions you may contact Sue Goebel: [email protected]

Grades 4-8 Study Table
on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00-4:00pm. These sessions are designed to help students with academics, organization, and time management skills. All 4th - 8th grade students are welcome to join us in the Media Center.

Juniors:  Remember your 3 activities to think of on weekdays (Friday, Nov. 10 is one of those days, along with MEA) that we don't have school:
  1. Study for the ACT
  2. College visits
  3. Job shadow

Juniors:  Every junior should attend a college fair to begin the process of getting the best financial deal for college and to gather i nformation on the colleges.  Bethany will be hosting the local college fair on Tuesday, Oct. 24th from 1:00-2:30pm.  Parents are encouraged to attend with their student.  Pre-register at
www.gotocollegefairs.com or www.mn-acac.org (college fairs, then MN Education Fairs, then Students and Parents page). Choose the questions you want to ask from the list in your packet you were given on College Night.  If you want ideas on which colleges to talk with, use the free college search at www.bigfuture.org

Click here for the   list of over 80 colleges that will be at the Bethany College Fair

Juniors and Seniors:
Construct Tomorrow is a hands on experience offered at the Civic Center either Oct. 24th or Oct. 25th during the hours of 9am-2:30pm.  This experience shows the student the 12 areas of construction related apprenticeships the Mankato area offers.  I attended last year and was amazed to learn that for each opportunity the apprentice will be making at least $50,000 in the third year.  If there is some technical college course learning involved, the company often pays for the tuition. See Mrs. Arians if you are interested as we need to schedule your time there.

J uniors and Seniors:
Remember that all juniors planning on a 4 year college should attend this college fair or the one being held at Bethany (Tues., 10/24 from 1-2:30pm).  Parents are encouraged to attend with their student.  Choose the questions you want to ask from the list in your packet you were given on College Night.  If you want ideas on which colleges to talk with, use the free college search at

The Junior Class Retreat will be held  Nov.  15 - 17  at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center.  We are in need of 4-5 parent volunteers to help chaperone.  If you are interested please email Sue Goebel   for more details.

Please note: The 6th grade will still be attending Wolf Ridge next spring.

Seniors:  The week of Oct. 23rd will be when you can submit a college application to any MnScu schools at no cost.  That would be the 7 state universities, which includes MSU, Mankato, and the 2 year technical and community colleges, which includes SCC.

Seniors: Fireside Catholic Publishing is offering a scholarship of $1,000 to five outstanding Catholic High School seniors who are daily
"Putting their Faith into Action."

To enter you must write a 750-word essay on how your religious education is influencing your life (Topic: "How is your Religious Education Influencing your Life?"). All submissions must be filled out and returned no later than  December 4, 2017
