Robert Rodriguez with fellow MPA graduates in 2015.
For six years Robert Rodriguez served in the Marine Corps, with duties in Desert Storm and tours in Kenya, Israel, and Somalia. He saw firsthand how precious people around the world hold safety and democracy.

After the Marine Corps, he decided to serve his local community and joined the Santa Ana Police department in 2000.

When an injury took him out of the front lines of SWAT he had to reevaluate his career trajectory. With encouragement from Trojans within the police force, he entered the  Price Masters degree program in Public Administration in 2013.
Through the program, Robert gained confidence in his own voice at work. "Now, when there is a policy issue, the department looks for my input," he said.

Robert supports the USC Public Safety Scholarship Fund because he believes first responders are critical to community safety. He says that a Price education gives our students a deeper understanding of accountability, transparency, and leadership so that they can best serve their communities.

"Price gave me an identity as an expert professional in my field so that I could influence change in the police department in a positive direction."
We believe that scholarships supporting public safety professionals prepare them for the next generation of service.
Please join Billy Brockway, Michael McCormick and Robert Rodriguez in their efforts to give back to public safety professionals who help us change the world every day. Support the USC Price Public Safety Scholarship Fund today!

On behalf of all public safety professional students at USC Price, thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Dean Jack H. Knott
