Principal's Message
Dear Parents,

Loyola and St. Clair will be joining a cooperate agreement in both Football and Softball.  We are excited about this opportunity for our students.  A cooperative agreement is for two years as required by the Minnesota State High School League.  The intention of both schools is a long term co-op in both activities.  We will review the co-op's each year to see where both school are at with participation.  This co-op will provide both schools with half of practices and games at each location. A committee will be formed soon to decide on a nickname and logo for the co-op's.  Coaches for each program will be determined in the coming weeks.  These co-op's will allow both programs to develop teams in grades 7-12.  Loyola currently co-ops with several area schools in various activities, with very positive results.  It has been fun to see our kids develop relationships with students from other schools.

Please mark on your calendar Friday, October 5 2018;  this is the date of the Homecoming football game on the Hill.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART- A MESSAGE FROM MR. STALOCH
We are kicking off our Jump Rope for Heart program in school on February 2.  This will included students in grades 3-5.  The American Heart Association supports your child learning about healthy nutrition and being active.  As your child participates in this program, they may wish to honor a family member or neighbor who is affected by heart disease. Your stude nt will learn that being healthy is fun and helping others is rewarding. If your family chooses to donate to this cause (optional), we hope that you will consider creating an online fundraising page through the school's Jump Rope for Heart page.  Follow these easy steps:

1. Go to www.heart.org/jump and search for Loyola Catholic School - click "Log on to fundraise" OR click this link to be taken to the page: http://www2.heart.org/goto/loyolacatholicschool
Not only are the students helping people with sick hearts, but our school will also earn gift certificates for physical education equipment.

Thank you for your support and if there are any questions please feel free to contact me,  Jacob Staloch if you have questions.

SENIOR RETREAT
the senior class will be on retreat Wednesday, 1/31 through Friday, 2/2.

Seniors:  The Dollars for Scholars local website is now open.  Go to http://mankatoarea.dollarsforscholars.org to apply.  They give over 25 local scholarships ranging from $500-$1000.  Anyone who has at least a 2.5 GPA and over 40 hours of community service should apply as it is a lottery once the student has those 2 criteria.  There will also be two $1000 scholarships for Loyola students who attend SCC!!  In addition, there are academic scholarships.  ANY SENIOR WHO IS AT ALL INTERESTED IN SCHOLARSHIP MONEY SHOULD APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP.   Important tip concerning the application:  Under "Add an Activity",  choose "volunteer work" or "volunteer church work" (it is listed alphabetically) rather than "community service" or "church/religious" to list your volunteer work.  If you have done it correctly, at the end it will ask you for your grand total # of volunteer hours.  After you put the total in, be sure to hit the "submit app" button.
