Remember:
It’s your ability to trust that there is guidance available which allows it to become guidance. (Sunday)
A God who could take the worst thing in the world (the killing of the God-Man) and turn it into the best thing (the redemption of the world) is surely a God we can trust to “work all things together for good” (Romans 8:28). (Monday)
Jesus healed people who trustfully affirmed, with open hearts, the grace of their own hungry experience—and that God could or would even care about it. (Tuesday)
Paul trusts his experience of God and of Christ over his own upbringing, over the Twelve Apostles, over Peter, and over the Jewish Christians. (Wednesday)
The common phrase “peace of mind” is a complete misnomer. When you are in your mind, you are never at peace, and when you are at peace you are never in your mind, but in a much larger, unified field. (Thursday)
The river is flowing; we are in it. The river is God’s providential love—so do not be afraid. (Friday)
Rest: Be Well
When we trust, as Juliana of Norwich came to do, that all shall be well, regardless of the circumstances, we can rest in the flow of God’s guidance and love.
A few years ago when CAC hosted work internships, one of our interns composed a song for Julian’s comforting words. Carrol Hall recorded the song in the living room of CAC’s old adobe house, with peacocks and traffic joining in—a reminder of how we can’t control or manipulate life, yet God brings beauty and coherence out of seeming chaos. As you listen, let the words and music speak this truth deeper than rational thinking, at the level of deep heart and soul awareness: “All shall be well, all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.”
