in Ballard on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:00 pm this year. It is required for all students. Permissions Slips were sent home last week and are due this Friday, May 6th.
Below are the Marching Band practice days & times.
- TOMORROW! Wed, May 4th from 2:30 - 3:15 pm
- Friday, May 13th from 2:30 - 3:15 pm

The Call time for Tuesday, May 17th is 4:00 pm in the Band Room.
The parade starts at 6:00pm. The BHS Marching Band is always one of the first entries in the parade since we are the home town band.
The band should be through the parade route by approximately 6:45pm and then the
students are to return immediately to school afterward to turn in their Marching Band Uniforms.
If they would like to go back to watch the rest of the parade, they may do so after they have turned their uniforms in. In previous years, some students have arranged to have rides pick them up at the end of the parade route so that they can get back to school faster.
Parent Volunteer Needs for Tuesday, May 17th:
- We still need 3 adults at the starting point and walk the parade route with the band
- We need bottled water donations (6 -24 packs) dropped off at the Band Room.

Looking Ahead to 2017...
The Wind Ensemble has been accepted into the "New York International Music Festival" on April 8-12, 2017. Ballard is one of six high school groups selected from around the world. These groups will be joined by two showcase university groups. They are looking forward to participation in the festival and to the culminating performance at Carnegie Hall. More
details to follow.
There is a Deposit of $500 that is due Friday,June 10th for Wind Ensemble students to attend the Trip to
Carnegie Hall in NYC.
We want every Wind Ensemble student to be able to participate in this amazing experience so families are encouraged to start planning now for the April 2017 event. While the actual itinerary is still to be determined, we estimate this tour will cost close to $2000. We will work hard to minimize costs but we
encouraged all students to participate in the many Performing Arts fundraisers as a portion of the proceeds will be placed in their student accounts.
Coffee sales are happening now through May 9th. If you have any questions at all about this trip please contact Ingrid Riley or Mr James.
