Student Pick Up and Drop Off Locations
In the morning, student drop off will be along Sampson Street where students will be able to enter through the gate and main entrance.
Please drop your child off on the school side of the street so they do not have to cross through traffic.

In the afternoon, car pick up is along Jefferson Street only. Students must exit out the end of the sophomore hallway and meet their vehicle on Jefferson Steet. Students will not be allowed to cross Sampson Street to meet vehicles.
Visitor and Parent Parking
Parking for parents and visitors to our campus is parallel parking on Sampson Street.  The only entrance for visitors and parents is our main entrance on Sampson Street.  In order to meet safety and security needs all other doors will be locked.
Official ADA Time
Energy's official ADA time this year is
10:10 AM.
Please schedule your child's appointments so that he or she is back to school by 10:10 AM or leaves after 10:10 AM. We receive our funding based on attendance at this time. Funding allows us to provide more for your child!
Special Thanks

PreAP students in Mrs. Alexander's Biology class used argument through inquiry to introduce meiosis. Students were given the question "How does the process of meiosis reduce the number of chromosomes in reproductive cells?" Students then used pop bead models to defend their theory to other groups.

Read below for more information on Ms Alexander and a new initiative she is working on for Energy.
Important Updates
Energy families,

If you have not purchased a Energy polo for your student, you need to buy one as soon as possible. Energy polos are required for guest speaker events and for field trips.

January 19th and 20th tenth grade students will be participating in PetroChallenge.  Each student must have their Energy polo for this event.  The PTO will be selling polos this Friday during lunch.  The polos are $25 and can also be purchased via credit card online at The Energy Store.

EMERGE Program Managers, graduates of top-tier colleges and universities, work closely with students and their families to ensure students' success at the nation's top colleges.
Student of the Week
Our Student of the Week is eleventh grader, David Livingstone.  David was nominated by Ms. MacGregor for his passion in developing alternative energy concepts.  David chose to come to Energy because he knew he could really develop his interest in alternative energy.  Even though he knew he was choosing a different path than his friends, he knows it has paid off because he has been able to grow and develop himself as an individual.  David says his favorite classes have been his engineering classes, especially when they focus on alternative energy.  "I am really interested in third world countries and developing concepts that will help them create a sustainable energy infrastructure.  I want to pursue engineering in college and eventually be an entrepreneur.  I currently am developing my own website to share non fuel emission energy concepts."  Energy is excited to showcase Daivd this week, as he truly is developing his his own unique passions and talents here!

Eco-Schools Project and Grant Award
Mrs. Finberg and Mrs. Alexander recently attended a National Wildlife Federation workshop in December about Eco-Schools. The goal of the Eco-Schools program is to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of the culture of a school, creating Eco-Action teams that include students, teachers, administrators, non-teaching staff, parents and the community. Energy is now an official Eco-School and has been awarded a grant to pay for materials for the next Eagles cohort Spring project and AP Environmental Science project. Students will complete audits for school grounds, energy, consumption & waste for our current campus and biodiversity for our new campus. For more info visit the following link ECO-Schools. We are looking forward to adding more classes to participate in this awesome program.
