Veterinary Camp

Program Description
: Camp participants will learn about veterinary medicine first-hand in classrooms, laboratories, and outdoor facilities that include Auburn University's raptor, equine, dairy, beef, and swine units. Students will learn about public health, food animals, wildlife, anatomy, imaging, and first aid, as well as gain valuable mentoring about veterinary science careers.
Students will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn's resident dormitories, eating at campus dining facilities, and enjoying evening social and recreational activities. Camp participants will have 24/7 counselor supervision.

: Do you have a passion for improving your community? Turn that passion into action and leadership. Work in an 8- week paid internship at a local non-profit, charitable organization. Gain a wide range of experiences in the professional world and come to understand the important impact that charitable organizations have on the community. In addition to this 8-week paid internship in Houston, Student Leaders attend a week-long Student Leadership Summit in Washington, DC to gain valuable civic, social and business leadership skills.

The BAFTX Junior Achievers award program is aimed to provide an international exchange summer experience for academically adept students from low-income families in the Houston and surrounding areas. The recipient of this program award is invited to attend a two to four-week British Studies Summer Program held at the American Community School in London, England. Students gain a wide range of valuable experiences, including the ability to adapt to a new culture, a deeper appreciation for English history and culture, as well as college-success values and skills.

Program Description
: The Academy for Rising Leaders is a 5-day intensive summer program that brings together rising high school seniors in Texas for an unforgettable leadership development experience. SUBIENDO was created at The University of Texas at Austin to prepare new leaders to address the needs of the next generation, including a growing Hispanic population that has become the largest and youngest minority group in the United States. Participants have an opportunity to problem solve real-world issues with today's top business and political names, focusing particularly on the growing Hispanic population in Texas and the country. Students work on projects in non-traditional classrooms and career settings.
