This will be our final newsletter for 2015. We are grateful for another great season and thankful to you for your trust and support. We will take some time to be with our families and enjoy the holidays and then get right back to work. We are excited for what the New Year will bring as we continue to take steps toward our goal of 100% customer satisfaction. We hope that we have been able to meet or exceed your expectations for quality results and service. We are also grateful for the many referrals you have sent our way and remind you that we will continue to reward you and your referral when you pass our name along to your friends and relatives. Thanks again and think spring!!

As our fertilizing season winds down and we head into the winter season we would like to just mention a couple of things. During the winter it is highly probable that you will be contacted by other fertilizing companies with aggressive sales techniques and unbelievable offers. Many of these companies are in the business of growing their customer base as quickly as they can so that they sell the company to one of the large multi-national corporations for maximum profit. We've heard plenty of stories over the years of the dishonesty, poor service, poor communication and broken promises from many of these types of companies.

We have spent the last 15 years building our reputation as a reliable, personable and professional company. We are here to stay. We work here alongside our family members and relatives and we are committed to providing the highest level of service for as long as you will allow. Our futures depend on it. We are absolutely committed to providing the best service and the best value for your hard earned money. We hope you would contact us any time if there was ever a reason you were considering leaving our service. Extreme Amounts of Grub Damage in 2015!
 
Why it is happening and what Top Lawn can do to help.

This has been the worst and most destructive year for grub damage in many, many years. We have received numerous calls from our valued customers about these turf damaging insects. Most of the problem has stemmed from the fall drought in September and October. This drought has revealed the underlying damage caused by the over population of grubs and made many lawns more susceptible to white grub damage and the destruction of the turf from skunks and  raccoon's  digging for the grubs.

These grubs are the larval stages of the Japanese beetle and the European chafer. Adult beetles lay their eggs in the summer, the grubs hatch and start to feed in late July and August in most years. The most feeding damage occurs in September and October when the grubs are large and the soil is still warm enough for them to remain active. In years like this where warm temperatures persist into November, grub injury may continue into December.

Our technicians have been reporting many sightings of grub damage and skunk digs and have been leaving information as to what we can do to help. This damage will not just go away, it needs to be treated. We have been applying a curative contact killer to stop the damage from progressing for many people this fall and have recommended the preventative product that we apply to give a season long protection for 2016, called Merit Grub Control. In most if not all cases it has proven less expensive to prevent rather than repair the damage. If you have seen damage in the fall without treating it, we highly recommend a curative treatment in the spring and the preventative treatment in the summer. Whether you do the treatment yourself or have the professionals at Top Lawn apply the treatment, it is crucial that the grub population be reduced to prevent future damage. 

Customer Loyalty Program

2016 will be the first year that our Customer Loyalty Program will be fully implemented. We are really excited to be able to put this in place and show our appreciation to our customers! This is the date you began a period of uninterrupted service with us. If you are not sure, you can email us at [email protected] or reply directly to this email. 

After you know your "since date" and have identified your "Milestone" year, simply contact us before you pre pay or before service begins in 2016 to activate your benefits. Unfortunately, benefits cannot be applied retroactively and cannot be applied to services already done or paid for. We could never afford to apply all the benefits to everyone who has already passed a "Milestone" year, but we do not want to allow that fact to prevent us from implementing this program. We sincerely thank you for your loyalty to our service and we hope we have demonstrated our commitment to quality service, expertise and professionalism. We look forward to serving you for many years to come!

Whether this is your first year with our service or you have been with us for years, we feel it is important that you understand our continuous service policy.

We sincerely appreciate your business and we hope to be the last lawn care service you ever need to hire. Everything we do on your lawn is with the idea that we will be back month after month and year after year to keep your lawn and landscape as beautiful and healthy as possible. Our perspective is that when you hired us to care for your lawn, we began a relationship. We intend to care for your lawn until you tell us you want to end that relationship.
