Greetings!
Spotlight Greetings from Cleveland, OH.  I am putting this together on a borrowed computer 10 minutes at a time so forgive some duplications from last week, but I could not let the week go by without INSISTING that everyone go to see Steel Magnolias this weekend.
I am not a cryer but in the first act I was already tearing up.  The acting in this show is absolutely amazing and you will be cheating yourself of a real experience if you don't get out and see one of the remaining performances.  Thank you to Deborah and Dejah!  I can't say enough about your acting talents.  Neil, your creativity is boundless.  Thank you for putting this all together so beautifully.
Go see the show......and also, go vote on Tuesday!

Steel Magnolias
Steel Magnolias is a comedy-drama play about the bond among a group of Southern women in northwest Louisiana. It is written by Robert Harling, based on his experience with the death of his sister. The title suggests the "female characters are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel". The magnolia specifically references a magnolia tree they are arguing about. The action centers on Truvy's beauty parlour and the women who regularly gather there. The story begins on the morning of Shelby's wedding to Jackson and covers events over the next three years, including Shelby's decision to have a child despite having Type 1 diabetes and the complications that result from the decision. There is also a glimpse of the unlikely friendship between Clairee and Ouiser; Annelle's transformation from a shy, anxious newcomer in town to a good-time girl and then to a revival-tent Christian; and Truvy's relationships with the men in her family. Although the main storyline involves Shelby, her mother and Shelby's medical battles, the underlying group-friendship among all six women is prominent throughout the drama. Full of humor and tears, this popular play will delight audiences of all ages.
Steel Magnolias
The comedy drama, Steel Magnolias will be presented by Act, Too; the resident acting troupe of Unity of Dallas. Remaining performances will be at 7:30 Friday and Saturday Nov. 2 and 3 with a 2:00 Sunday matinee November 4. Located at 6525 Forest Lane, reservations may be made by calling  972 233-7106 ext 223. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $12 dollars for seniors and children under 12 year-of-age.
