Annual Poetry Competition
Calling all poets in grade 9 to adults to submit one - three original poems for the
Arts Council for Wyoming County's (ACWC)
2014 Poetry: "Your Story, Our Story ...Share the Connection"
competition in celebration of National Poetry Month.
Cash prizes of $50, $30 and $20 will be awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place submissions in both young adult and adult categories.
All submitted poems will be used to create the ACWC 2014 Poetry "Your Story, Our Story ...Share the Connection" anthology.
The RULES are simple:
- Individuals are allowed up to 3
submissions with a 30 line maximum per poem. -
Entries must be received by April 12th
- Email submissions are highly encouraged and may be sent to: [email protected] with subject line - "ACWC poetry competition 2014"

Winners of the Poetry competition will be announced at the:
Poetry Open Mic event to be held on Friday, April 25th, 7 PM at the ACWC gallery, 31 S Main St.

"Poetry 6 X 6"
In addition to the Arts Council's traditional poetry competition, writers/ visual artists are invited to submit one 6 inch by 6 inch card with a combination of art and interpretive haiku, tweets or cell phone texted language.
Any form of artwork, writing, painting, drawing, fiber, collage, that can hang by a clothespin is eligible for entry.
These 6 x 6 poem cards will be exhibited in the upstairs ACWC Members' Gallery during the month of April and will be offered to the general public for a suggested donation.
Participants wishing to have their poem/art card returned after the exhibition, is required to include a self addressed envelope and adequate postage along with their poem cards.
All submissions for the Poetry 6x6 exhibition are due on or before April 12.
The Arts Council for Wyoming County reserves the right to exclude work inappropriate for viewing by young children.
