What resource does your family use?


 
Tot Shabbat
Target Group: Families with Children 5 and under

Do you have that Shabbat feeling?  Every Shabbat morning at 11 am you are invited to join us for Tot Shabbat at CSI Douglas and Beit Aryeh.  The morning will feature prayer through song, Torah, stories, and dance.  Tot Shabbat families are invited to join us for a Kiddush luncheon following services.

If you've graduated from "Tot Shabbat", it's time to experience...

 

Got Shabbat!

 

An interactive Shabbat service for students in 3rd-7th grade and their families.

 

Led by Cantor Sheri Allen, who has been creating innovative family services
throughout the Metroplex for the past 18 years.  

 

From davening to starring in a "Parashah Play," congregants of all ages
will have the opportunity to participate in every aspect of the service!

 

Pre-B'nei Mitzvah students will get credit for attending services as well as the
chance to perfect their davening skills before their own "big day!"

 

Got Shabbat! will meet at 10:15 am in the Fonberg Family Chapel  on  Saturday, May 19.

What: CSI Family Center and PJ Library Passover Shabbat

Families with children 12 and under, extended family and friends are invited to join this festive Friday night

Shabbat meal! Our evening will start with an upbeat Erev Shabbat family service and PJ library book,
followed by a delicious Passover Shabbat meal.

When: Friday, April 13 from 6:00-8:00 pm

Whether you just got married, had a baby or are empty nesters, your spouse's parents can be challenging. Handling any conflict with your in-laws and family can be uncomfortable and difficult.  

 

Join the CSI Family Center as Yolanda Swope's, Marriage and Family Therapist from Jewish Family Services helps us explore the unique dynamics of family. Yolanda's presentation will help us understand the building blocks of a family and give each one of us tools to deal with each other when these forces collide. Her presentation will be thought provoking while at the same time honor the importance of our loyalty to parents. Private questions will be answered following the main presentation.

 

Yolanda holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Woman's University and a Medical Doctor Degree from Central University of Venezuela. She Worked overseas as a physician for 10 years serving under privileged and rural communities, families and individuals for most of that time. Since 1997 her work includes: families and children in need in the USA providing office, school, home, and community base services; Director of Emergency Services and Intake at Family Service in Providence, Rhode Island; Family Studies Center, at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas; counseled families and children for the Dallas Independent school District; provided grief and loss counseling for the Oncology Department at Parkland Hospital to cancer patients and their families.

PJ Library

 

PJ Library is a Jewish family engagement program. Each month, we mail free, high-quality children's literature and music to families raising Jewish children. A program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. Today, families in hundreds of communities across North America are able to explore the timeless core values of Judaism through books and music. Visit the PJ Library website to learn more. 5th Annual Zweig Family End of School Year Bash

Sunday, April 15, 2:00 - 4:00 pm; 300 Dallas 

 

Please join us as we raise money for special needs at the
5th Annual Zweig Family End of School Year Bash. Bring your family and friends for a fun day of bowling. Trophies will be given out to the highest scores in age brackets 10 and under, 18 and under and over 18 for men and women. Pizza and drinks will be served. There is an $18 entry fee per person and a silent auction for big prizes! Click here to see the flyer.  

 

All proceeds go to the Gladys Golman/Faye Dallen Special Needs Fund, which provides grants to Jewish Family Service, area schools and institutions to train religious, pre-school and day school teachers to enable children with learning differences to be successful because "Every child deserves a quality Jewish education"
