Let's chit-chat! Join Laura and her Lunch Bunch Book Club this month to discuss:
The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women
by Kate Moore
"1917. As a war raged across the world, young American women flocked to work, painting watches, clocks and military dials with a special luminous substance made from radium. It was a lucrative and glamorous job - the girls themselves shone brightly in the dark, covered head to toe in the dust from the paint. They were the radium girls. As the years passed, the women began to suffer from mysterious illnesses. The very thing that had made them feel alive - their work - was in fact slowly killing them: they had been poisoned by the radium paint. Yet their employers denied all responsibility. These courageous women refused to accept their fate quietly, and instead became determined to fight for justice."
Copies of this month's book can be found at the Circulation Desk. No registration required. Open to all.

The Franklin Lakes Library Art Gallery Presents
Alice Weisser
My name is Alice Weisser, I have a BFA from Philadelphia College of Art. My major was painting. Art has been a constant throughout my life.
This body of work is on Instagram and is a documentation of my daily life, using a digital format. My work is a cross between fine arts and illustration. I approach my art with an immediacy without compromising the essence of the subject. The pieces in this collection celebrate my experience with movement, using shapes, color and humor.

In the Display Case: The Art of Corrine Lill
My name is Corrine Lill. I am a local artist that loves to paint! My specialties are animals (especially dogs!) and 3D paintings on mirrors with shells and spackle.
Hope you enjoy the pictures. I do!
