PRE-PESACH


Selling chametz may be done via Tzohar's online form here.


Thursday morning, April 10: Fast of the Firstborn (begins at 5:02 AM). A Siyum to follow 8:15 AM Shacharit


Thursday evening: Search for Chametz after 7:41pm w/ regular b’racha for bedikat chametz.


Friday, April 11: Dispose/Burn all Chametz by 11:20 AM except what you need for Shabbat meals. Do not recite the final paragraph of bitul (“Kol Chamira”) until Shabbat morning before 11:20am.

Candles 6:30 PM (Remember to also light long lasting Yahrzeit Candle)


Mincha 6:55 PM, followed by Kabalat Shabbat led by Naftali Abramson.


Shab Morning Shacharit: 7:30 AM


Please note this earlier time, scheduled to accomodate the need to finish all chametz by 10:00 AM. For those wanting to begin their lunch later, see the matzah ashira solution on page 36 of the attached Pesach Guide.

On Sunday, April 20th (Isru Chag) from 6:30 - 8:15 PM, Shir Hadash will host a building dedication and donor appreciation event with the Acapella group, Kippalive. A more formal event was originally scheduled when we first completed the building back in 2020 (and then again in 2021), but was cancelled due to Covid.


The purpose of this event is to mark this community milestone, thank our many donors, and officially dedicate the building in memory of JJ Greenberg.


6:30 PM: Light (Bagels) Dinner & Entertainment provided by Kipalive.


7:30 PM: Dedication


8:00 PM: Dessert
