Happy Spring Everyone!!!
It's getting warmer, trees and flowers are blooming, and lots of exciting new shows and projects are blossoming in our studios. What a great time to be in NYC!!!
As you can tell from our plant filled halls, we love Mother Earth and we're excited to honor her all month long. We also celebrate those who take special care of her ~ This includes our own multi-talented studio gardeners at RG, "Plant Lady" Jaye Maynard and her assistant Charles Sanchez. 🌱❤️
|
Join Jaye (and RG) for a special Earth Day Event on April 22nd at our 520 8th Avenue location (time TBA), where she'll share her plant-care advice and give out some seedlings for you to add to your window garden at home!
If you've got Jazz Hands more than a Green Thumb, you can still celebrate Earth Month by nurturing our planet with your creativity. Just like the beauty of nature, Art speaks to our humanity, inspiring hope, new ideas and creative solutions.
Keep growing and let's blossom together!!
See you at the studios.

Greetings!
Get out & about in the warm weather. Spring flowers blooming, trees budding. Host houseplants to lift your spirits. Take outdoor walks, jogs and intermittent running for Spring fitness. Biking (helmet), hiking, and nature walks are cool. Balance cardio workouts with stretching (yoga is great); add core strength training and light weight workouts. Current advice: 20 min per day weekly is adequate to stay fit. (modification is 30 minutes one day, 10 minutes another, etc.) If you participate in a sport, add sports specific warmups. Keep in mind that sports and formal dance are activities/games created by us that require our bodies to adapt to them. They are possibly not the best way to stay in shape for longevity and often cannot be maintained as we get older. Free dance is a great way to stay in shape, be careful of restricted dance. Many professional dancers who study a dance form that is restrictive of natural positioning of the joints and muscles suffer later in life. If your career requires this type of dance, balance it out with an opposition activity.
A quick list of some healthy habits. Don't shower or bathe excessively, don't use a lot of soap or shampoo, you will be washing away essential skin/scalp oils that protect your outer layers. Use a brush to "de-scale": brush out old hair/shedding skin. Finish with a cool/cold shower to close your pores and to charge your system running water on the back of your neck down to regenerate your spine. Use a clean washcloth daily to spot clean. Change your washcloth frequently (I have 20) to reduce contamination. When washing your face avoid soap, use moderately warm water (not hot). Always remove makeup before bed, use a makeup remover cloth, and/or use lukewarm water, a cool rinse, pat dry (never rub) and put on a moisturizer (FYI: no cream moisturizer actually moisturizes it just keeps the water locked in). Wear sunscreen (have you ever seen an old Floridian?) Brush your teeth in the morning, rinse your mouth after eating (swish water around). Before bed manually floss then use a waterpik (the initial expense will save you thousands in dental bills). Brush your teeth first then your gums (preventing gum disease $). Fluoride toothpaste use is up to you. I haven't used fluoride toothpaste in 40 years, (I have all my teeth except for molars). I filter my drinking water to remove fluoride and other contaminants, but filters can also remove good minerals so you need to research your water system for purity and quality. Watch your alcohol intake. Alcohol is a substitute name of the substance in drinks which is Ethanol (yep the same Ethanol you put in your gas tank). Alcohol is ethanol with flavors to make it palatable. Ethanol/alcohol content in drinks affects your brain, initially a stimulant or a relaxant, it can be ver unhealthy especially if abused by killing brain cells. It can lead to regretful behavior. If you drink, (I like white wine), find "lower alcohol" or organic brands. Lower exposure to devices that may emit harmful EMR rays: computers, tvs, phones; overuse can compromise brain cells. Don't sleep with your phone too close as it affects sleep quality.
For brain, emotional and physical health meditate, read, exercise, and sing. Listen to music and sing. Singing & more singing lifts spirits and resets your thought patterns, Dance awry to stay joyful. Spring clean, your home/work habitats of clutter to clear your mind.
Enjoy the gift of Spring!
Better and better, Patricia

Hi everyone! Happy Spring!
I haven't gone to any more Broadway shows since last month, but I did go to 2 concerts. The first one was Balu Brigada -- 2 brothers from New Zealand who I had seen open for Twenty One Pilots a few times last year. They played Baby's All Right in Brooklyn. The capacity is less than 300 and we stood about 3 rows from the stage. Since I had only seen them play arenas before as they were openers, the difference in the energy at this small venue was amazing. It ended up being one of my favorite shows that I've been to! I told them that afterwards as they met everyone after the show. Also, at the moment I'm trying to finalize my trip to see Twenty One Pilots in the UK. That means I'd see Balu Brigada there too!
The next concert was MISSIO at the Mercury Lounge. This was my 4th time seeing them since 2018. For this tour they offered a meet and greet and it was so worth it! They were very nice and put on a great show. I even got a setlist from the stage at the end!
I also went to 2 book signing events this month. I met Bob Odenkirk and his daughter, Erin, in New Jersey as they were signing the book that they created together called Zilot. The next day I met Krysten Ritter at a signing for her new novel Retreat. All of them were so kind and they were nice enough to pose for photos too!
Until next month, Jeannie
