OUR PARISH MISSION

Christ Church exists to show everyone God loves them unconditionally.

We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING

God's love.

There are several ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:

you can mail in your pledge, place in the Sunday offering,

give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

Adult Christian Education Offering

Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis

Sundays ~ 9:30-10:15 AM ~ Rm. 31 of Education Bldg.

In the third section of this book Lewis writes about the impact of “Christian Behavior” on every human relationship. This Sunday, class attendees will consider how Christian faith can transform spousal relationships, increase one’s ability to forgive, and how what he calls “The Great Sin” (pride/hubris) is completely destructive to relationships. All of this centers on Jesus’ admonition to “love others as you love yourself.” For more information contact Dick Hooper or David Starling.

We extend the love of God (Outreach/Parishioner Support)

Host Ministry Recruitment

We are looking for more people to join Christ Church's Host Ministry and welcome visitors and parishioners to Christ Church on Sunday mornings in the Foyer before the 8 AM service and 10:30 AM service. Hosts provide directions to various locations to aid in navigating our church campus, creating a welcoming experience. Contact Krista if you are interested in this ministry. There will be two brief training sessions for new hosts:  Tuesday, April 22 at 7:30 PM after EfM in the Foyer and Sunday, April 27, after the 10:30 AM service in the Foyer.

Outreach Opportunity

Family Promise is a local nonprofit that works with individuals, organizations, and businesses in our community to provide shelter and necessities. In Pensacola, local churches provide space and accommodation as families progress through the program to sustainable housing. Family Promise helps homeless families get back on their feet and supports them through classes and case management to achieve sustainable independence. First Presbyterian Church is hosting two families the week of May 18-May 24. If you are interested in learning more about this organization or helping with volunteer support that week, please contact Rev. Katie.

Ministry Opportunities & Ways to Serve

What does it mean to be the Church? The Church is not a building, but a community of people and there are many opportunities where you can share your gifts within our community. How is God leading YOU to serve in new and exciting ways at Christ Church? For a full list of ministry descriptions, please click here; for ministry survey, click here.

THE GAME IS ON!

March Madness is back this year! This year, all proceeds for March Madness will go to support Bright Bridge Ministries — a local ministry to support our neighbors in need. The competition is on between four desserts, each with a theme from our Lenten Study, Bearing Fruit. The dessert that has the most donations will be served at Bright Bridge ministries after Easter when we go to provide lunch to the residents of the shelter, along with anyone in the community and individuals who do not have permanent housing. Bright Bridge will match all donations made during Lent as part of their campaign to renovate their South Wing to double occupancy. Donation forms are available on the information table in the Foyer or you may give online here (choose "Outreach").

STAY CONNECTED WITH

CHILDREN & FAMILY MINISTRY!

Children and Family Ministry (CFM) has two ways to keep our families connected with Christ Church during the week. CFM is on Instagram, @cckidspensacola, and shares what is happening on Sunday mornings & ideas for how to keep faithful conversations happening during the week. CFM also has a bite-sized weekly email with the "5 Things" our families need to know for the week – Sunday reminders, save the dates, and more. Would you like to be added? CHRIST CHURCH NAMETAGS

To request yours, please sign up online here. Nametags may be picked up from the information table in the Foyer the Sunday after your request is submitted.

ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS

Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. After the Sunday services, the altar flower arrangements are reworked into smaller arrangements. These arrangements are delivered to members of our parish family that are unable to attend a Sunday service. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here and on the information table in the Foyer.

CHURCH PRAYER SHAWLS

A few prayer shawls have been placed on a stand just inside the front doors of the church that may be used during services. If you are a bit chilly or just want something to hold, pick up a prayer shawl to use. It is the hope of the Prayer Shawl Ministry that these items, prayerfully made, will offer comfort and a sense of well-being to the borrowers and they will feel God’s love and peace.

CARE IN COMMUNITY

Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
