Principal's Message

Dear Miramonte Community,

A huge thank you to our Leadership students and Mrs. Porter for organizing an incredible Spring Spirit Week, which wrapped up with a fantastic schoolwide rally today! It’s always inspiring to see our students and staff come together and show their joy and school spirit. Creating opportunities for students to have fun during the school day is essential—not just for their enjoyment but for their overall success. Research and experience show that students who feel connected to their school community are more likely to thrive academically.

That’s why we are committed to expanding these efforts by dedicating time, resources, and staff to support student leaders and the activities that bring our campus to life. Please help us with this by donating to ONE-Miramonte (it’s not too late to make your annual contribution) so that we can better fund these essential student activities. And, please continue to encourage your children to get involved, volunteer when you can, and keep attending games, plays, musicals, and other events with your families. Your encouragement and engagement helps build the strong, spirited community that makes Miramonte special!

Earlier this week, our staff participated in a district-wide Professional Development Day focused on AI and student engagement. Educators gathered to explore the role of generative AI in secondary education, with a keynote address from Dr. Rebecca Branstetter. The day featured sessions on using AI for curriculum development, assessment, differentiation, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and personalized professional growth. Teachers also collaborated by subject area, experimented with AI tools, and provided feedback on AUHSD’s draft AI guidance. This work is an important step toward thoughtfully integrating AI into our classrooms and helping students prepare for the evolving challenges and opportunities of the future.

Finally, don’t miss the final performance of "Insult to Injury," our Short Play Festival written and directed by our Advanced Drama Senior Honors students, happening tonight!

Have a great weekend, and Go Mats!

Parents' Club Message

Happy Friday Miramonte Families,

Our local high schools are among the best in the nation, and they need our help! Measure T is a local parcel tax that will provide essential funding to retain excellent teachers, keep class sizes manageable, and maintain enriching academic programs. Without it, cuts will be necessary. There are many ways to get involved! You can show your support by putting up a yard sign, making a donation, or adding your name to the list of supporters — every effort makes a difference. Visit www.yesont4auhsd.org for more information.

Our Nominating Committee is still looking for volunteers to join our team! We need a Graphics/Social Media coordinator to help create engaging visuals and posts for our communications, as well as Parent Education Liaisons to assist in coordinating valuable educational events and resources for our community. If you're interested or would like to learn more, please reach out to our Parliamentarian, Amy Stuffmann

Announcements & Events

ONE Orinda Annual Benefit

Save the date for the 3rd Annual ONE Orinda Benefit on Friday, April 11, 2025, 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Wilder Art and Garden Center. This event is open to everyone in our community - school families, community members, and local businesses. Purchase tickets HERE

On Monday, March 24, Miramonte High School is hosting a blood drive with the Stanford Blood Donation Center. This event is open to students who are over the age of 16 and their parents, providing them with the opportunity to contribute to a life-saving cause by donating blood. Students aged 16 will need to fill out a consent form with parent permission. Other students 17 and older do not require a consent form. All participants under 18 need to meet height and weight requirements linked below. The donated blood will be utilized in hospitals across the bay area, where the blood will be used for transfusions. The blood donated by Miramonte students and parents will directly support patients in need of transfusions for various medical conditions, including serious injuries, surgeries, childbirth, anemia, blood disorders, and cancer treatments. By participating in the blood drive, students and their families can make an immediate difference in the lives of those requiring critical medical care. The event will take place in the main gym from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and we strongly encourage everyone to participate and contribute to this vital cause. Everyone who donates blood gets a $15 giftcard to the store of their choice, as well as being entered into a raffle with the chance to win Club Suite tickets to the Warriors. Your involvement will help Miramonte High School create a meaningful and positive impact on the community.
