Hello League Family,
It has been so much fun joining you all in the audience for another successful Chicago Theatre Week celebration. With over 15,000 tickets sold and counting this continues to be a program enjoyed by audiences from across the nation. Thank you to our Chicago Theatre Week participants who completed our recap survey. Your submissions were truly a huge help to showcase the success of Chicago Theatre Week 2025!
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our Cultural Conversations series with the Celebration of Womxn’s History Month in March and International Womxn’s Day (IWD) on Saturday, March 8! Join us for our discussion with Theatre Industry Leaders on Monday, March 10 at Lookingglass Theatre. There are only a few spots left! Don't forget to check out our listing of shows on Hot Tix to support women’s stories and playwrights.
This year’s IWD theme is to Accelerate Action. Women playwrights have made powerful contributions to the world of theater, and their stories, themes, and characters continue to shape the narrative of the stage.
Women have consistently expanded the boundaries of what theater can represent and how it can address the most pressing issues of our time. Their work remains crucial to understanding both the past and the evolving present of society. I, myself, stand on the shoulders of some amazing, powerful women who took care of their communities with their love, voices, actions and fight. As we look at the legacy we are forming for those coming after us let us continue to forge a path that is wider for others.
