When I found out that Friday (February 21) was National Sticky Bun Day I had to share the news with other sticky bun lovers. This sweet, delicious treat has a rich history that has roots in Europe. The Swiss call them ‘kanelbulle’, British call the bun a ‘Chelsea bun’, and the Germans say ‘schnecken’. No matter the name, sticky buns are yummy and have lots of flavor. So, bottoms up with your favorite beverage and a sweet deal of a bun.

Here are a few ideas to celebrate the sticky bun whether it is February 21 or not!

• Visit your favorite bakery to enjoy the convenience of fresh baked buns.

• Host a Sticky Bun Potluck: Invite family and/friends to bring their favorite version of sticky buns. Share recipes and enjoy the different tastes and textures. You may find a new favorite.

• Sticky Bun Pairing: Experiment with different coffees and teas to find the perfect match with your favorite bun. Maybe a good partner to the potluck?
