-Mix markets today, as corn futures closed higher with more strength seen in the nearby trading months. Soybean futures were mixed, like corn, strength was seen nearby and new crop futures months less, and some closed lower. Wheat futures lower across the board.
-A snow storm hit parts of the US over the past 24 hours, with Kansas and Wisconsin receiving 4-6 inches, and a small band saw 10 or more inches.
-US drought area shows 53% of corn production area seen drought conditions, 42% for the soybean production area.
-US weekly export sales were within expectations for corn at 58.92 million bushels, below expectations for soybeans at 12.95 mil bu, and wheat was -9.14 mil bu, big swing from last weeks 28 mil bu.
-All 3 commodities are still exceeding last years pace at this time, corn ahead by 25%, and wheat and soybeans ahead by 13%.
-US Fed left benchmark interest rate unchanged yesterday.
