Nigerian Flavors in Westchase District

For Kofoshi Olagbaju, running a restaurant wasn’t part of the plan. Just a few years ago, she was driving a METRO bus through Houston. But in May 2024, she traded in her bus route for a menu filled with Nigerian specialties, opening Kofoshi Nigerian Restaurant in Westchase District.

At first, business was slow, and she worried she might have to close before she really got started. But word spread, and soon customers—both Nigerian and American—kept coming back for more. Today, thanks to strong online reviews and a loyal customer base, Kofoshi Nigerian Restaurant proudly boasts a 4.7-star rating on Google.

Her menu features bold, authentic flavors, including jollof rice served with a choice of meat and abula, a traditional soup made of three different stews. Initially, she worried the spice might be too much for American customers, but she quickly learned Houstonians love trying new foods.

Give it a try today at 3706 S Gessner Rd.
