CHFA's 2024 Community Report is now available online. In the report, learn how CHFA invested $2.6 billion to support affordable housing and community development in 2024. In addition to capturing CHFA’s investments, this report includes a recap of CHFA’s 50th anniversary. Through various initiatives, events, and outreach, CHFA celebrated its historical impact as well as the partners who have made the work and success possible. The report includes the publication of the Colorado Changemakers photo gallery, which features a selection of individuals photographed and interviewed by CHFA in 2024 who have made an impact in affordable housing and community development.
Beneficiary Reports are also available as a part of the online report. Each of these reports includes data and insights about the people and organizations that CHFA has the privilege of serving.

| | chfa welcomes state senator marc snyder to board of directors | CHFA is pleased to welcome Colorado State Senator Marc Snyder to its Board of Directors. CHFA’s Board serves as its governing body and is tasked with supporting CHFA’s mission. The Board is comprised of 11 members including the State Auditor, a member of the governor’s cabinet, eight governor-appointed members confirmed by the State Senate, and one member of Colorado’s General Assembly who is appointed jointly by the Senate Majority Leader and Speaker of the House. Senator Snyder, an attorney, serves constituents in Colorado’s State Senate District 12 in El Paso and Teller Counties. | | building legacy: a black homeownership series begins march 22nd |
On Saturday, March 22nd, from Noon to 2:00pm at CrossPurpose in Denver, CHFA will host the first in a series of events called Building Legacy: A Black Homeownership Series. Part I is focused on understanding and overcoming systemic barriers to homeownership.
Each event in the series will build upon the previous one, but attendance is not required at all events. Participants can join the event series at any point. These events are part of CHFA’s Own Your Tomorrow initiative to increase Black and African American homeownership in Colorado. CHFA is also proud to participate in the Center for African American Health Annual Expo on March 29th and the African Leadership Group Homeownership and Financial Literacy Workshop on April 19th. CHFA will accept Direct Effect Awards applications beginning Tuesday, April 1st. The application period will remain open until April 30th, and awardees will be notified in late July. Direct Effect Awards recognize and support Colorado nonprofits whose missions align with CHFA’s work to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development.
Applications for a second round of awards will be accepted beginning August 18th and will close September 12th. Round Two awardees will be notified in early December. More information is available on the CHFA website via the link below.
| | single family construction loan program | CHFA recently introduced the Single Family Construction Loan Program, which provides construction or bridge acquisition financing to for-profit and nonprofit developers to support the development of affordable for-sale homes in Colorado. Eligible uses include construction and/or rehabilitation costs as well as project acquisition. The eighth and final episode of Season One of The Buildout will be published on Thursday, April 3rd. The Buildout is available on the CHFA website as well as across all major streaming platforms, including Apple, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
Over the course of Season One, the podcast has explored various topics related to affordable housing and community development including innovative housing manufacturing, homelessness, Black and African American homeownership, Native American housing needs, and affordable middle-income housing development. The season will conclude with an episode exploring affordable housing preservation.
Season Two of The Buildout will launch later this year with a continued focus on telling the stories behind the individuals, organizations, and communities working to address some of Colorado’s most pressing challenges. More details about Season Two will be available soon.
