GOD’S GRACE LEADS TO MERCY

In 1 Corinthians 1:4 Paul writes, “I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Psalm 100:5a says, “For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting…”

The goodness of the Lord, based on love, is good and everlasting in mercy. His grace gives everlasting mercy, and His mercy pardons us by faith of all our sin and even our unrighteous thoughts. Who could ask for anything better than His grace and mercy?

We are to emulate Christ. So, how much grace do we extend to those around us? How much mercy do we give to those who speak or do wrongly toward us?

We must always forgive them. We can never even consider to “pay them back” for what they did or said, which would be the opposite of forgiveness. We must exercise forbearance, then turn them over to the Lord, the Holy Spirit, for reconciliation. He makes all things turn out for the good, but only when we give it all to Him.

Because of the goodness of God’s grace, we, ourselves, must extend mercy to any offenders, same as He extends mercy toward us.

Prayer: God grant me the same grace as yours so that I may sincerely extend mercy to everyone who has ever in my lifetime spoken or acted against me. Amen!

JUST DO IT

A while back we had contact with a man that loves the Lord. His job brought him to our front door where we had a lengthy conversation. He shared his love of God and told us a story.  

When he was praying one day when he was younger, he asked God why the miracles in the bible were not happening today. God’s response was not what he expected. He told this young man that if he wanted to see people healed and miracles happen that he needed to be the one to do it.  

It is quite remarkable how many believers want to see miracles, signs and wonders happen in and out of church, yet those same people never step out in faith believing that God will do it through them.

If you are a believer, then this should not be something that happens only once in a “blue moon.” In Mark 16 some of Jesus’ last words were in verses 17-18, “17And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

The only qualification for these things to take place is to “believe.” Are you a believer? Do you have the faith to believe people will be healed when you pray? The early church in the book of Acts saw faith in action. Paul had a viper attach itself to his hand and he just shook it off, knowing that it would not hurt him because he knew who he was in Christ. The Church in the book of Acts saw the miracles being performed and they weren’t being done by the religious leaders in the synagogue or just pastors or leaders in a church. They were common folk that believed God and miracles followed.

So, if you want to see these things happen my suggestion to you is to “just do it.” Pray expecting to see these things happen! Perhaps if every believer did there would be the same fire burning in folks as it did in the early church.

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

A prophet or prophetess may have an occasional right on target word for you, but you cannot depend on those words for your daily walk as a Christian. There is one that has a daily word for you and that is the Word made Flesh, Jesus Christ. As we study the word (the Bible) DAILY he reveals himself to us and speaks to us through the written word. You can always count on God to talk to you because "His Sheep" hear "His Voice." (John 10:4.)

Wednesday Thought For Today

Are you fighting against God? Do you feel like you are swimming upstream against the current? You had a plan for your life but nothing seems to be working out the way you planned. Stop a moment and think about your life when things were easier. With everything in you; you want to get back to that place.

It is so simple. Surrender your plan for God’s plan. Trust Him to show you the way through the storms in your life because He will. We have examples in the Bible on how to release it to the Lord.



Jesus sleeping in the boat during the storm is one way. He knew His authority over the storm so He was able to sleep in peace. This is one example. Look for others they are there for you to use.

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.”

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Just be assured of this one thing during the WAITING season you’re in; That our faithful God will help you to make it THROUGH it all. Yes, He will be with you through those things that can and often do happen on the way to a fruitful GROWING season. However, the truth of the matter is that without a TIME of WAITING; We none could ever have a real fruitful HARVEST season. Just keep in mind the key for you is to remain CONTENT while you’re in that dreaded and often drawn out WAITING season; But just don’t you be WORRYING so much while you’re there. Psalms 37: 7-8 tells us to…”Rest in the Lord; Wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t be envious of evil ones who prosper. Stop your anger. Turn off your wrath. Don’t fret and worry as it will only lead to trouble”. So just determine in your heart that you WILL have a blessed day as you’re learning to WAIT patiently there in this difficult season; And remember to do it all with much hope in your heart…And a great big smile on your face.

                      His life was told before He lived it.

                      By what you read in this book of old.

                      God’s whirlwind messages, please receive it.

                      Come to his Cross, repent, and know

                      Don’t wait too long to come to Him.

                      He will forgive your every sin.

                      Know this Savior don’t turn your back on Him.

                     This man of glory, your Savior’s Story.
