Parenting Workshop: The New Authority Approach (JFCS Parent Support Group)

Friday, April 4 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM

Kehillah families are invited to join therapists from Jewish Family and Children’s Services (JFCS) and our School Counselor Sarah Lesser for an insightful session on the New Authority Approach, based on Nonviolent Resistance (NVR). This approach offers parents practical tools for setting clear boundaries while strengthening connection and trust with their children. Rather than focusing on control or punishment, the New Authority Approach emphasizes parental presence, persistence, and de-escalation to address challenges such as screen overuse, defiance, and emotional regulation.

During this workshop, we will:

  • Outline the New Authority Approach
  • Explore practical strategies for home
  • Discuss effective ways to handle common parenting struggles
