SPECIAL CHILDREN'S MEGILLAH LEINIING IS A BIG HIT AT LINK

On Taanis Esther, a few hours before Purim, nearly 100 children from across the Pico/Robertson community jammed into the LINK Kollel for a unique and enjoyable presentation. Rabbi Aharon Mikhail, a popular Rebbe at Harkham Hillel Academy, once again put on a one-man show with his unique "interpretation" of Megillas Esther for children. Replete with humorous images projected on a screen, sound effects and various costumes, Rabbi Mikhail read parts of the Megillah with lots of creative voices and pantomimes. He had the children roaring with laughter as his patented performance reached its climax. The children came away thoroughly entertained as well as educated about the Purim miracle.

ADDITIONAL EARLY SHABBOS MINYAN

Beginning this Friday evening, we will have two Minyanim for Shabbos davening. In the first Minyan, Mincha will begin approximately 15 minutes before Plag HaMincha (this week it will start at 5:35pm), and the second Minyan will begin approximately 15 minutes before Shkia (6:50pm this week). There will also be the early Mincha Minyan each week at 1:35pm. This will continue until Rosh Hashanah time.

PARSHAS PARAH

This Shabbos is the third of the special Shabbosim at this time of year. During the time of the Beis HaMikdash, people would purify themselves from contact with the dead by having the ashes of the Red Heifer (Parah Adumah) sprinkled upon them as the calendar approached Pesach. We will read a special Maftir from the beginning of Parshas Chukas (in Bamidbar) and also recite the special Haftorah for Parshas Parah.

KIDDUSH

Shua and Sasha Grossman are sponsoring this week’s Kiddush as a gratitude to the LINK community and especially Rabbi and Rebbetzin Brander for being so welcoming, supportive, and always going above and beyond with pure love.

MAZEL TOV

Mazel tov to Jordan Berger on his Aufruf this Shabbos (at PBM) in advance of his marriage this coming Tuesday night to Zahava Horowitz. May they build a Bayis N’Eman B’Yisroel!

Mazel tov to the Kandel and Berkowitz families on the marriage this Sunday of Rebecca Kandel and Ariel Berkowitz. May they build a beautiful Bayis N'Eman B'Yisroel

YOM KIPPUR KATAN

Due to the renewal of fighting in Gaza and the continued perilous fate of the remaining hostages, we will once again be adding the Yom Kippur katan Selichos to Mincha on this coming Thursday afternoon after the 5:35pm Mincha (Rosh Chodesh Nissan the following Sunday so Yom Kippur Katan is said the previous Thursday).

TIZKU L’MITZVOS

Link raised a record amount of money for Tzedakah/Matanos L’Evyonim this past Purim. Including money for the local poor, Od Yosef Chai (for Jerusalem’s poor), Ezras Yisroel (for American poor), and the Institute for Dayanim in Israel, we raised nearly 18,000 on Purim. Tizku L’Mitzvos!!

Friendly Reminders for Shabbos Morning Children’s Groups

1. Parent(s) MUST remain in the LINK building for the entire duration of the time that they leave their children at Shabbos Groups.

2. For everyone's safety as well as for our congregants’ ability to be to daven with kavanah, please make sure that your child is either in their designated group or in the shul sanctuary supervised by you. We cannot have children roaming the hallways, or running in and out of the sanctuary, kitchen or classrooms.

3. As soon as davening ends, please go to your child's group and pick them up from the designated room.

The above rules will be strictly enforced
