A Tribute to our Life Enrichment Coordinator, Liz!

💐 Celebrating 10 Wonderful Years of Liz

This spring, we celebrate a very special milestone: 10 incredible years of dedication, compassion, and joy from Liz, who has been a cornerstone of our ExquisiCare family. As we honour this remarkable chapter, we also look ahead with mixed emotions, as Liz prepares to retire later this month. It’s hard to imagine our homes without her warm smile, steady energy, and boundless heart.

Liz is the kind of person who leaves a lasting mark—not just because of what she does, but because of who she is. Whether she’s dancing alongside residents during live music, organizing outings and activities with effortless precision, or lending a helping hand in the kitchen or during daily care routines, Liz shows up fully. Her passion is seen in her eyes, her presence felt in every corner of the home.

She’s like a river that never runs dry—full of energy, always moving, and always giving.

Over the years, Liz has become a source of comfort and safety to residents and staff alike. Her authentic approach and gentle nature have helped ease sadness and loneliness, bringing light to even the quietest moments. She’s a connector—someone who understands the value of presence, of a kind word, of a shared laugh or gentle touch.

We’ve also heard time and time again how Liz made others feel welcome—offering support, tips, and kindness that helped new staff feel like part of the team from day one. It’s just who she is: a natural caregiver, a true teammate, and a beloved friend to so many.

As Liz enters a well-deserved new chapter, we send her off with deep gratitude and warm wishes for joy, relaxation, and new adventures along the way. She’ll be deeply missed, but the impact she’s made will remain in every smile, every dance, and every moment of connection she helped create.

Thank you, Liz, for 10 years of love and light. 💛

Springtime at ExquisiCare:

A Season of Light, Connection, and Community

As the snow melts and the first crocuses bravely poke through the soil, there’s a certain kind of magic in the air. Spring in Alberta is more than a change in temperature—it’s a feeling. A lightness. A quiet joy. And in our ExquisiCare homes, we feel it deeply.

For our residents, the arrival of spring brings a renewed sense of connection—to the outdoors, to each other, and to the rhythms of life. After a long winter indoors, there's something deeply therapeutic about feeling the sun on your face again, hearing the birds return, and watching the trees begin to bud.

Spending time outside—even if it’s just a few quiet moments on the patio—can have powerful effects on physical and emotional well-being. Exposure to natural light boosts mood, supports better sleep, and encourages gentle movement. Our team works to create opportunities for our residents to enjoy the season safely, whether that means planting flowers in raised garden beds, sipping tea in the sunshine, or simply opening the windows to let the fresh breeze in.

Support for Those with Parkinson's

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month

For those living with Parkinson’s, spring can offer a welcome reprieve—better weather means fewer slips on icy sidewalks, and more opportunities to stay active and social.

At ExquisiCare, we’re proud to support our residents with Parkinson’s through personalized care, empathy, and encouragement. We see their strength and resilience every day.

Steps for Alzheimer’s

On May 25th, we’ll lace up our sneakers and step out in support of the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s benefiting the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

This event is near and dear to our hearts, and we’re thrilled to be volunteering this year. Alzheimer’s and other dementias affect many of our residents and their families, and this walk is one way we come together to honour their journeys and advocate for better care and resources.
