Called to Glory
Rev. Dr. James C. Zwernemann (former Bishop and President of the LCMS Atlantic District) passed away peacefully on March 30. He touched lives in many ways: as a Lutheran Pastor, community leader, mentor, friend, husband, father, BBQ expert, Eagle Scout, athlete, and doting Pop Pop. He truly loved God, his family, his country, and the great state of Texas. As we rejoice in the salvation that is ours by grace in Christ Jesus, please pray for all who grieve and look forward to the day of Christ's return in glory.
Rev. James Leggett (Our Savior, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was called home to Jesus on April 3. Please pray for his wife, Anna, as well as their family and friends. The memorial service for Rev. Leggett will be held at Holy Cross, North Miami, FL, on April 14 at 4 pm.
Prayers
Rev. Timothy Brown (Christ the King Lutheran Church, Orlando, FL) had successful hip replacement surgery on March 28. Please pray for a full recovery and healing.
Rev. Murray Brindle (Emeritus) is home and waiting for a liver transplant. Please pray for his body to heal and pray for the process of a transplant to be swift.
Please pray for Roy Heflin (DCE Emeritus) as he continues to wait for kidney transplant surgery. His health has recently improved. Please visit Roy’s Caring Bridge site often to stay updated and share messages of encouragement and support.
Join together in prayer as we prepare to gather in worship, study, and celebration while focusing on the mission of Christ at the FLGA District Convention in June. May the undeserved grace of God, through Christ, that we receive daily compel us to share this same message with urgency and joy! Please pray over the convention preparations, delegates, overtures, and those nominated for leadership.
Please pray for our nation as the transition of leadership continues. May the Lord guide those making decisions to do so with concern for the well-being of our nation as a whole, those in need of the programs/services, and those who serve faithfully as civil servants.
For those serving in our Armed Services, particularly those in active war zones such as the Middle East/Mediterranean, South China Sea, and elsewhere. The extended tours of duty, staffing shortages, and dangerous, stress-filled environments impact many of our men and women. Pray for their safety, well-being, mental and spiritual health, and peace.
