I am pleased to announce Allan Rousselle as our new PTSA President for the remainder of the school year. Allan graciously answered our call for leadership and was elected at the January General Membership Meeting. Please join me in warmly welcoming him as he takes on this crucial role in leading our PTSA. 

Serving as the PTSA President over the last 2½ years has been an incredible honor and privilege. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Board, school administration, and our entire school community for their unwavering support during my tenure. Together, we have achieved remarkable things, and I am confident that with Allan’s leadership, our PTSA will continue to thrive and make a positive impact. Allan can be reached at president@redmondhsptsa.org.

The Redmond HS PTSA is hosting a Spring Arts Fair on Saturday, May 3 and we are looking for local artisans to be a part of this exciting event. Reflections Open House - Celebrate the achievements of LWSD Reflections artists at the Lake Washington Resource Center on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 6:30-8:00pm. All RHS artworks that advanced to the council level will be displayed. Students, along with their friends and families, can also view the artwork from Wednesday, January 22 through Monday, January 27, during LWRC's regular working hours. It’s an equine extravaganza! Pony helps out the Mustangs!

The PTSA has partnered with Pony Express Redmond in Redmond Town Center for a

fundraiser for the month of January. The PTSA Grad Night Celebration will receive a portion of sales from full-price Notary and Passport services from customers who mention “PTSA”, RHS”, “Redmond High School” before payment.

There are two ways to support us:

• Get your documents notarized by a notary on staff. Bring your unsigned documents and government issued photo ID. Notary Services Info

Yearbook Recognition Ads are the perfect way to commemorate achievements and celebrate milestones. In addition, revenues from Recognition Ads help our school create a better yearbook. To purchase your ad online, follow the instructions listed below. Jostens is responsible for our school's yearbook ad sales. Please do not contact or send materials to the school. Please also consider our school's ad content guidelines during the creation of your ad online. All orders must be placed by Friday, January 31.

Find them in the College and Career Center website under the Scholarship Deadlines Calendar and on the Scholarship bulletin board. Be sure to check the requirements for each one and apply to as many as you are eligible for. Scholarships are stackable and they do not affect your financial aid. Here are a couple to share with you:

The Sea Mar Community Health Centers Scholarships are now open! Sea Mar will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to students who are of migrant or seasonal farm worker backgrounds. In addition to this, Sea Mar offers a $2,500 scholarship to students who demonstrate a history of advocacy, responsibility, accountability, and perseverance. The money can be used to cover expenses while they’re enrolled in college such as tuition, food, housing, books, etc.! Please encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity. They can find the application at www.seamar.org/scholarships or under the Scholarship Calendar on the CCC website. The deadline is Tuesday, April 15, 2025. 

Nellie Martin Carmen Scholarship awards promising high school students with financial need. The awards range from $500 to $2,000 a year and scholarships are renewable for four years of college. RHS can select two nominees to apply for the scholarship and requirements and instructions are under the Scholarship calendar’s Friday, February 21 listing. Check it out!

WANIC, the Washington Network for Innovative Careers, is a consortium of seven school districts in the region to the northeast of Seattle, which have been in partnership for over 20 years and share Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. As a state-approved interdistrict CTE consortium, WANIC's primary mission is to provide quality, diverse, and cost-effective career and technical education for all high school students through interdistrict cooperation.

WANIC Skill Center provides advanced level Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs based on rigorous academic and industry standards preparing students for career and college readiness. WANIC Skill Center programs are delivered through a system of branch campuses in seven participating districts. Member districts include Bellevue, Issaquah, Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Northshore, Riverview, and Snoqualmie Valley. The skill center programs provide dual credits opportunities (both high school and college credit) and/or lead to industry certifications. Priority enrollment period for Full Year 2025-26 programs will open on Tuesday, February 4 at 9am and close on Tuesday, April 15. Enrollment is by lottery and enrollment status will be emailed between Wednesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 30. After Tuesday, April 15, applications will only be accepted for programs with space available. Full year applications close 3pm Tuesday, July 15.
