YRA Race Recap

YRA Doublehanded Race #1 - The Bay Expedition

Due to the pretty light winds predicted for the 1st race of this year's doublehanded series, we ended up creating an option for a shortened version of our normal Bay Expedition course, which proved to be a smart move. The wind thankfully cooperated enough to give everyone a good day out, racing on smooth water under lovely sunshine.

Competition was tight in the Spinnaker 1 division, with less than a minute separating the first 4 boats. Check out the complete results for the day HERE.

A big thank you to PRO Hans Opsahl and his team for their great race committee work, and to RYC for their use of the Pelican!

Race Management News

Race Organizers! Join us for a workshop on best practices when choosing courses for your regattas!

Local PRO extraordinaire Richard Reitmeyer will be heading up a workshop on best practices for picking solid race courses for your regattas. He'll walk through the various things to consider when developing courses, and important considerations when choosing the best course for the conditions on race day.

We'll end the workshop with a Q&A and roundtable discussion.

PHRF Certificates

Need a certificate for an upcoming race? The quickest option is to renew through Jibeset, especially if your boat has been rated before and there are no changes to the boat's standard configuration.

Need an application for a new boat? Fill out the online application HERE

Have changes to your boat's configuration, or a new boat, that needs to go to the PHRF Committee for review?

The next PHRF Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday April 28th. To get a boat on the agenda, the YRA needs to have all boat paperwork by Thursday, April 24th.

REGISTER HERE!

Did you know that the YRA publishes a list of all the boats with a current PHRF Certificate, which includes the configuration data for each boat? You can find it on the YRA website HERE. Boats are listed alphabetically and the list is updated monthly after the PHRF Committee meeting.
