Your generosity is inspiring
Thank you, for breaking our Murphy Membership goal for a record fourth year in a row, and several months earlier than ever! Your trust and encouragement speaks volumes, and we couldn’t be more grateful. You get it, you understand the importance of keeping this landmark open and available to the community and beyond, and the never-ending costs that come
with such a responsibility.
Your outpouring of support tells us, you believe in the work
we’re doing.
Now someone get me a tissue.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

They say dogs are a man’s best friend. Well I have it on very good authority that they are also women’s best friend. So
when you do the math that pretty much covers just about everybody.
Do you know who “They” is? It’s Dogs. I know this, for I am a dog whisperer.
And what good luck, because Saturday afternoon, April 19, at 3:00 the award-winning world-renowned menagerie of mutts known as Cirque Du Canines prances onto our stage. These canine crusaders will make your jaws drop with their fanciful tricks and all-around huggableness. A show that will surely give you paws. All tickets are just $15. Don’t miss this chance to treat your kids to a family-friendly Easter show, or you could end up in the family-friendly doghouse!
We have been told that not only will Easter Pup be on paw, but so will the Easter Bunny. Not kidding.

We’re gonna need a bigger boat…
We’ve got Jess Cramp, a National Geographic Explorer coming to the Murphy Theatre on Tuesday, April 22 to share with us a whole bunch of her shark tales. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn and enjoy the excitement about these sea creatures that are so much more than the Champions of the Chomp. Show starts at 7:00 and tickets are just $10.00 for students and $20.00 for adults. This show is (wet)suitable for the entire family.
REMEMBER: If you or someone you know bought a ticket (or more than one) to see Moon Mouse, all you have to do is bring us your Shark Art (ANY kind) between now and April 22 for display and to score a FREE ticket to see National Geographic Live: The Untold Story of Sharks! Open to students of ALL ages!
| | The Doo Wop Project is coming to The Murphy Theatre on Saturday, April 26, at 7:30. The Doo Wop Project is a guaranteed audience pleaser and sells out coast to coast, and promises to be a great turnout here as well. Tickets are selling fast, but are still available for this salute to the greatest music of our time, the 50’s and 60’s and more. | |
This just in!
A Murphy Theatre favorite, The Drowsy Lads return with their Drowsy Christmas Special, on Saturday, December 6, at 7:30. Tickets are $35.00 and go on sale to our Murphy Members first, for two weeks, beginning Friday, (today) April 18 at 4:00 PM. Last week I posted the incorrect sale start date. My apologies. Attention all Meat Lovers…
Our nation’s long national nightmare is finally over. Yes Virginia, there is a Meatloaf Tribute band out there in the stratosphere. It’s called MEETLOAF, and we’ve got them coming to the Murphy Theatre, Saturday, August 30. They nail all the hits you remember from your high school days, or your parents’ high school days, or your (gulp) grandparents’ high school days, including, “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights”, “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad”, and “Bat out of Hell”, just to name, well to name three. Tickets are $35.00, and go on sale to our Murphy Members today, (Friday) at 4:00.

Does your group need to raise some funds?
Looking to try something different, something unique?
Have we got the fundraiser for you!
Murphy Theatre Money Maker Movies.
Choose any one of our movies posted on our website, then contact us to purchase 50 or 100 tickets at a major discount, then sell those tickets at whatever price your group decides. That’s it, that’s all you do, just sell the tickets. No need to send your eight-year old out on their own, shuffling door-to-door, selling shark teeth necklaces, post-surgery dog collar cones of shame, or collectible “Hee Haw” trading cards out of a wet, moldy burlap sack.
And to make it even more attractive, you don’t pay rent for the theatre, and you don’t pay for the rights of the movie; we’ll take care of all of that. We even have our concessions open for snacks and beverages. Contact Amanda Martin at mandy@themurphytheatre.org to get this stress free, easy going fundraiser started.
| | Our next Coffee and Conversations with Donuts will be Saturday morning May 24, at 10:00 AM. This is a dandy way for the leadership staff and members of the Murphy Board to connect with our patrons, over complimentary coffee and donuts in Charlie’s, followed by a Q and A in the theatre. We answer your questions about the operations of the theatre, and welcome your suggestions on how we can improve. Later that same day we welcome back the premiere Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute group, Let’s Hang On. We’ve had them before, and they were a HUGE hit. | |

PLEASE purchase your concert tickets ONLY from The Murphy Theatre website. When you go to our ticketing site, if your computer does not display the words, AudienceView, or Ovation, you are not on the correct site. You must begin your online ticketing process by typing in www.themurphytheatre.orgWhen in doubt, give us a shout and we’ll take care of you on the phone, or stop in Wednesday through Friday, from 11:00-6:00, or

These thoughtless ticket heathens should have their Easter basket taken away and tossed in a wood chipper.
| | | Have you caught Wake Up Wilmington yet? It’s a weekly morning show streaming from Charlie’s, 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM with host Charlie Hargave. They’re closing in on their 200th episode already!
