Spring into Action: Big Things Are Blooming at West End Center!

Spring is in full bloom in the Roanoke Valley, and with it comes a season of growth, renewal, and incredible opportunities to support the children of West End Center! 🌷 This month, we’re celebrating the power of community—whether it’s through your generosity on Give Roanoke Day (April 23) or by joining us for the excitement of Spring Bling (May 4).

At West End Center, we see growth happening every day. We see it when a student masters a new skill, builds confidence, or discovers a passion they never knew they had. And we know that none of this would be possible without you. Your support ensures that every child in our program has a safe place to learn, grow, and dream big.

Join Our Plastic Recycling Drive!

We’re excited to announce that West End Center is participating in the NexTrex Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge! This is our chance to make a real impact by collecting plastic film waste and keeping it out of landfills.

🌱 What to Bring?

We’re collecting plastic bags, bubble wrap, dry-cleaning bags, bread bags, case overwraps, and more! If it’s soft, stretchy plastic, we likely can recycle it!

♻️Why It Matters?

Once collected, these plastics are transformed into Trex composite decking and furniture, giving waste a second life in a sustainable way. If we collect over 1,000 pounds in a year, we’ll earn a Trex bench for our Center!

📍 How to Donate

Drop off your plastic film at West End Center (1223 Patterson Ave SW) from 10am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Every contribution counts!

💚 Be a Green Hero!

By recycling plastic film, we’re teaching our students about environmental responsibility and sustainability. Let’s do this together!

Give Roanoke 2025– One Day to Make a Difference!

Mark your calendar! On April 23, we’re joining nonprofits across the community for Give Roanoke, a one-day giving event that makes a lasting impact on the children we serve. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to support critical programs that empower our students to succeed academically, grow personally, and maintain their health and wellness.

Every donation—big or small—helps provide essential resources for the children of West End Center. Whether it’s a small contribution or a larger gift, your support is transformative.
