Bring a dish to share, and serving utensils, too (labeled, if you want them back). Let's celebrate and give thanks for Jane’s ministry!
All are welcome to this month's Jazz Vespers service on Sunday, February 2, from 5:30-6:30 PM in Atherton Courtyard (Chapel in case of rain). The service will include a mix of live music by local musicians, poetry, storytelling, quiet time, and prayer. February's theme is "A Love Supreme!"

Donate to Support California Wildfires Relief
On Super Bowl Sunday we will take up a "Super Noisy Offering" in our worship services to support survivors and relief efforts in California following the wildfires. This is a project of our Children's Ministry, initiated by one of our own keiki.
View this video to hear their invitation. On Sunday, February 9, bring coins to donate and let's make noise with our change! You may also give by cash/check (labeled with "California fire relief") or online (bit.ly/CUCfirereliefCA) from now through February 9. We will donate the total offerings collected from our church to the United Church of Christ's California Wildfires 2025 fund.

Learning Tree
February 9, 10 AM, Women's Building
Please join us for our next Learning Tree as one of our members shares her testimony of faith, healing, and hope. Nani Elm was born and raised on O‘ahu and Central Union has been her family's church for 5 generations. She can sometimes be seen dancing hula during our church services. Nani continues to navigate her personal journey to wellness after recovering from a health crisis which spurred her desire to use her experience to help others. Come hear "The Old Testament, the New Testament, the TODAY Testament."

CUPS Annual Fundraiser
Get ready for DAZZLE 2025!
| |
Central Union Church Preschool (CUPS) is excited to be hosting the 20th anniversary of DAZZLE, its signature fundraiser gala on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Alohilani Resort. Twenty of the island’s top chefs will be providing amazing tasting plates to enjoy as guests bid on both a silent and live auction, all while in the company of friends and great entertainment. And this year, CUPS hopes to have YOUR SUPPORT in order to make DAZZLE a success for CUPS and our CUPS keiki.
DAZZLE was first organized to help raise funds to support the Preschool’s 5 E’s, which include:
- Educational Opportunities,
- Environments,
- Endowment,
- Events, and most importantly,
- Economic Diversity, the tuition assistance program that paves the way for our unique and diverse group of children from across the island.
We hope that YOU can be a part of our DAZZLE 2025. How? CUPS would be honored if you would consider attending Dazzle or donating an item to one of our auctions. Supporting DAZZLE comes with amazing benefits, such as premium advertisement on our CUPS and DAZZLE websites, all social media accounts, and the event program book; having your name in front of an audience of 600+ community influencers and decision-makers; and the opportunity to support a worthwhile cause.
For questions or to become a sponsor/donor, please feel free to contact Alana Anderson (alana@centralunionpreschool.org or 917-623-5913). Individual tickets can be purchased at the special pre-sale price until February 15. A room block is also available at the Alohilani Resort for more than 50% off standard room rates - please see the booking link at bit.ly/DAZZLERoomBlock.
We hope that you will be a part of this special annual event. Help us continue creating opportunities for our CUPS keiki and their families. Your support means the world to us! Together, let’s show our children just how much they matter to you, me, and everyone. For more information and tickets, go to bit.ly/DAZZLE2025.

Pray for the Jazz Vespers service, that all those sharing and hearing music will be blessed and inspired by A Love Supreme!

Readers Needed for Worship!
Worship is one of the heartbeats of our church – it is the work of the whole church community in praising God, hearing God's word to us and responding in faith. One way to help each other in our worship is by reading scripture and other parts of our service. It enhances our experience of worship when we can have different faces and voices leading worship.
If you are willing to read in a worship service, please join our pool of readers! Learn more and sign up by clicking HERE.

HAVE SOMETHING TO SHARE?
We welcome relevant news and events to share in our publications. Please submit items to news@centralunionchurch.org by Wednesday to be published in the following days.
| |
Looking for a venue? Our church's range of facilities can accommodate all kinds of events! By renting out our spaces, we can provide a gathering place for the community and generate revenue for ministry. Learn more about our venues and consider hosting your next event at Central Union. Beware of Email Scams!
Scams come in many forms, whether it's someone impersonating a church leader, or a stranger seeming to have a good deal for you on a special product or service. Please be cautious when checking emails! Know that church staff will never ask you to purchase something or give personal information. Often you can identify an email's authenticity by verifying the sender’s email address (CUC staff emails end with @centralunionchurch.org), but it's also possible for scammers to mimic email addresses. So if you receive any strange message at all and are ever in doubt, just delete it, don't reply or click on any links. You may call the church office (808-941-0957) to confirm.
