REJOICING IN THE RISEN CHRIST

Oh death, where is your sting? Oh grave, where is your victory? I am still basking in the glory of Resurrection Sunday at Midland Valley Community! We had an incredible Holy Week experience on our campus. We had 200 people go through the Prayer Stations that traced the steps of Jesus as he made his way to the cross. Our Good Friday service and Communion will be long remembered. Pastor Erica did an amazing job presenting the message that night. EASTER FEST was a big hit with the community on Saturday, and the culmination was a powerful celebration on Easter Sunday, where we worshipped the Risen Christ!

The total attendance for Easter worship was 1,761. I say "Praise the Lord!" We had many victories around the altars on Sunday, including 3 people who made professions of faith. To God be the Glory! I trust you and your family experienced the power and presence of the Risen Christ!  

Today is Administrative Assistants Day, so I want to give a shout out to 4 ladies in our church office who make me, and the whole pastoral staff, look a whole lot better than we really are! We are blessed with the very best in Kaye Merriett, Julie Moore, Tammy Gallimore, and Kim Martin. If you get a chance this week, reach out to these special ladies and let them know how much you appreciate them!

The next two Sundays (April 27 & May 4) we will be holding our annual church elections at Midland Valley Community. This year we will be doing electronic voting, thanks to our Media Pastor, Chris Ward. In order to vote you must be a member of MVC, and be at least 15 years of age. Please take advantage of this opportunity to shape the leadership of our church as we move forward.

The deadline for early registration for our mission trip, the Becoming Conference is THIS FRIDAY, April 25. We will be going to Nashville, TN (@ Trevecca) June 24-28 to engage in either a week long mission trip (Mission Nashville Track) or a week long exploration of what a call into vocational ministry could look like for our teens (YES conference track). PLEASE DO NOT PAY ONLINE - in the payment selection write "Pastor Erica is sending one check". (this saves you the online payment fee and allows you to use your student account!!!) There is a possibility of going up a day early to do an additional mission project with another group in Nashville so please tentatively plan to leave Monday June 23. More info and final decision coming soon! Becoming Conference Registration 

Our Fuse Golf Tournament Fundraiser is coming up on Saturday May 24 at Houndslake Country Club! You can support our teens in 2 major ways: First, if you have a local business or your family would like to 'sponsor a hole', please contact the Fuse student you would like to support (or Pastor Erica to get connected with a teen). The hole sponsorship is $100 and the full $100 will go to the student you sponsor. We are also accepting door prize donations! Second, you can play in the tournament! Entry fee is $70 per person and includes green fee, range balls, golf cart, lunch, and a mulligan package. Registration is at 12pm and Shotgun is at 2pm. Bible Babes Class

Meets Tuesday Mornings at 10:00 in the Chapel (on the hill). Annual Church Elections

Will be held Sunday, April 27 & May 4. Please vote on one of these Sundays. Your vote counts! Church Members 15 yrs. & up are eligible to vote. No absentee voting. We will be electing Church Board (3 yr. term), NDI (Sunday School) & NMI (Missions) presidents, SS Board, NMI Board & District Assembly Delegates. Voting will take place in the Fireside Room (main bldg.). There will be a small station set up in foyer for handicap or those who can’t walk to Fireside.   We are implementing Electronic Voting this year, you will check-in as normal.      Volunteers are needed to help on one or both days, please contact Diane Giddings at 803-645-3190. 

"A Snack Just For You” Ministry



Provides snacks to patients receiving treatment at Aiken Oncology & Cancer Care Institute of Carolina in Aiken. We are continuously accepting donations in the straw hamper in the sanctuary foyer. A list of items needed is near that hamper, it includes pre-packaged chips, crackers, Oreos, Chex mix, gold fish, granola bars, cookies, Hershey kisses, pretzels, mixed nuts & 8 oz. bottles of water. Contact Deb Chalker @ (803) 221-6091 if you any questions.
