Service of Healing and Holy Eucharist
Sunday, March 30, 8:00 and 9:30
The Fourth Sunday of Lent
Our worship on March 30 will be similar in form to our regular Sunday worship but will also include special communal prayers for healing as well as an invitation for individuals to receive anointing with oil and prayers. We hope you'll join us.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul."
Psalm 23:1-3a

Women's History Month
Ann Thomas Griffiths (1776–1805) was a poet and hymn writer who in her short life created some of the greatest religious literature in the Welsh language. Her hymns are marked by her fervent faith and deep scriptural knowledge.
In her hymns “'we find such a quality of vision, such an exploration of the heights and depths of human experience, such a statement of the central affirmations of the Christian faith, as to make of these things a precious element not only in the tradition of these islands but of the whole of humankind; a kind of focal point in which many things from far and near are gathered.” (Donald Allchin)
Click here for a short biographical video which includes two of her most beloved hymns.

Are you Interested in Being Received into the Episcopal Church?
Bishop Craig Loya will preside at a service of Confirmation and Reception at St. Mark's Cathedral on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00. Those who have been baptized and have been members of another Christian fellowship and who wish to be affiliated with the Episcopal Church may make a public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their baptism in the presence of our bishop. He will lay hands on each candidate for reception and say, “We recognize you as a member of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church, and we receive you into the fellowship of this Communion” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 418).
Please speak with or email Rev. Katherine at klewis@stdavidsparish.org to learn more.

Lent Evensong
Saturday, April 5, 5:00pm
Join our parish choir, along with other singers from around the Twin Cities, for contemplative musical evening prayer. With scripture, prayer and music drawn in part from Celtic sources, we will meditate on finding strength and hope in difficult times.
"When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for."
- Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Invitation to a Spiritual Practice for Lent:
The Art of Neighboring
Did you know that Americans are spending more time alone today than in any period in modern history? Some are saying it’s an “epidemic of loneliness”. Across all demographic groups our time socializing face-to-face is down 20% from 2003 to 2023... and for youth it’s down 40% (Bureau of Labor Statistics)!
What does this mean? How is it changing us? What does scripture offer as a source of wisdom to guide us? As Bishop Loya implores us… what is one “small thing” that I can do?
Our invitation is for everyone to identify ONE Lenten practice that will change the way you interact with your “neighbors”. We will gather again after Lent to share our stories of how this one small Lenten practice made an impact on ourselves or others.

ICA Update
The Minnesota FoodShare March campaign is the largest grassroots food and fund drive in the state. It brings together organizations, businesses, faith communities and individuals to help stock and support nearly 300 food shelves.
Hunger continues to grow in Minnesota. Families are struggling to feed themselves as food prices and food insecurity keep rising. In 2024, Minnesota had a record-breaking 9 million food shelf visits! Similarly, ICA is seeing a record number of families visiting each month (over 1000 families) and its food stock is in constant need of being replenished.
Traditionally, spring is a time when contributions of food and financial support begins to decline. In response, ICA joins other Minnesota food shelves to encourage contributions during Minnesota FoodShare Month. It’s the second most important time of the year for food and financial contributions.
It’s important to remember that ICA provides more than just food for our neighbors in need. Its services encompass food, jobs and housing.
The 2025 Minnesota FoodShare March campaign is almost over. If you wish to make a financial gift, you can drop a check made out to ICA in the Sunday collection plate. Or you can go to the ICA website: www.icafoodshelf.org/donate. Be sure to indicate, when prompted, that you are a member of St. David’s. For every dollar donated, $3 of groceries can be purchased.
Current food needs include:
Food Non-food
canned tuna paper towels
canned chicken toilet paper
mac & cheese diapers
canned vegetables pet food
crackers
These are only suggestions. As always, anything you wish to donate will be most appreciated. You can bring your gifts of food to church this Sunday or drop them off at your convenience in one of the ICA baskets at the church entrances.
Gifts like yours - whether food or financial support begins - make a real difference to our neighbors. Thank you for all you do help ICA care for those in our community who need a little extra support. Your gifts matter and are making a difference for so many who come to ICA seeking help. Thank you!

Hats & Mittens
Spring is almost here and Hats & Mittens is winding down. This past winter Hats & Mittens had more requests than ever before and provided free hats, mittens/gloves and scarves to more than 30,000 children and young adults in need in the seven county metro area.
Many, many thanks, dear St. David’s parishioners, for your generous donations of new and gently used hats, mittens/gloves and scarves the last four months. Your gifts have provided a warmer winter for so many young people in need. Thanks again for making a difference in their lives.
