Dear FA Member,

The 2025 World Service Business Convention (WSBC) will be held on Friday, May 30, through Sunday, June 1.

FA's First Hybrid Convention

This year, FA is hosting our first hybrid convention. This means you can participate either in person in Danvers, Massachusetts, or online via videoconference. Voting members will have the same ability to contribute to discussion and vote securely whether participating in person or online.

Now WSC members can serve from anywhere in the world

Meetings should elect a World Service Conference (WSC) member at their January or February business meeting. The voting member will be able to serve either in person or online via videoconference. In order to serve as a WSC member, a member of the fellowship must have at least five years of continuous abstinence in FA and have completed one in-depth study of the Twelve Steps in sequence as of March 1, 2025, using a method focused on food addiction and requiring abstinence throughout each Step, within the current term of abstinence. If you’re interested in serving, as a WSC member, please read the World Service Conference (WSC) Member Manual.

• Convention registration opens

March 1

• Deadline for WSC member registration
• Deadline for intergroups and chapters to submit a motion. Refer to the WSBC Motion Submission Procedure document for details.
• Deadline for applications for World Service Board positions. 
• Open this year for election: 12th Step Chair, Secretary, Service Group Support Chair, Treasurer, Literature Chair, Public Information Chair. Refer to WSI Officer and Committee Chair Position Responsibilities for details.

April 18

• Online Convention registration closes
• Last day to request a refund to the FA Office

Meetings should not set aside money to send a WSC member to the Convention. Refer to Document 8: From a Traditions Perspective for more information. 

Financial assistance to cover the cost of travel or to cover the cost of registration for virtual participation is available for elected WSC members through Eastern Area Intergroup or Western Area Intergroup.

Financial aid applications through EAI and WAI will be available at the launch of Convention Registration.
