A Message from our Exective Director

Celebrating Women’s History Month

March was Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the incredible strength, resilience, and achievements of women throughout history, as well as those making an impact today in our community. From women facing the challenges of housing insecurity to those who have overcome significant barriers to create a better future for themselves and their families, we honor their courage and perseverance. These women inspire us every day with their determination and unwavering spirit. At Operation HOPE-North County, we are proud to support women and their families, providing the resources and encouragement they need through every step of their journey toward stability and empowerment. We understand the unique challenges women face, and we are committed to being a source of hope and opportunity in their lives. Their success is a testament to the power of resilience, and we are honored to walk alongside them on their journey.

Community Partner Spotlight

Lighthouse Church

We’re thrilled to recognize Lighthouse Church as our Community Partner of the Month. Their dedication to service and generosity truly embodies the spirit of community, and we are so grateful for their commitment to helping Operation HOPE—North County thrive.

Recently, Lighthouse Church organized a service learning project that brought together a team of about 25 volunteers to support our shelter and the families we serve. Their incredible efforts not only helped us maintain our facility but also ensured a safer and more welcoming space for our residents.

During their visit, the Lighthouse Church team tackled several essential projects, including:

  • Securing and re-gluing baseboards to improve safety and upkeep.
  • Repairing and stabilizing the mailbox for better functionality.
  • Trimming and maintaining fruit trees to sustain fresh food.
  • Disposing of large items like bikes, grills, and appliances.
  • Assembling a bed to provide a comfortable resting place.

The impact of Lighthouse Church’s efforts will be felt long after their visit, and we cannot thank them enough for their hard work, kindness, and generosity. It is because of dedicated community partners like them that we can continue to provide a safe, supportive space for families on their journey toward stability and independence. We look forward to continuing this partnership and seeing how we can work together to further support those in need. Thank you, Lighthouse Church, for your service and compassion.

Ready to Make an Impact?

Service projects like this not only help us maintain a safe and welcoming space for our families, but they also create meaningful experiences for volunteers to engage directly with our mission. Whether it’s facility improvements, organizing donations, assisting with meal service, or creating enrichment activities for our children, there are so many ways to make an impact.

If your group, company, or organization is looking for a rewarding way to give back, we would love to partner with you on a customized service project. No matter the size of your team, your time and effort can truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
