WE DID IT!

On Sunday, March 16, over 400 people gathered in 18 locations across the state, and on Zoom, for the 12th annual Oregon Interfaith Earth Summit!

It was a meaningful and powerful experience. Here is the event recording to watch and share with others.

Let’s keep moving forward together! Would you take these two actions now to multiply the Earth Summit's positive impact?

1) Join us this Friday, March 21 at 12-1 p.m. for a conversation about The Right to a Healthy Environment.

  • This proposed amendment to the Oregon Constitution affirms what we already know in our hearts – that a safe and healthy environment is a matter of human rights. The amendment has broad support in the Oregon Legislature. However, we need your help to reach the last few legislators who will decide whether the bill passes or fails this spring.

  • Speakers include Oregon Senator Jeff Golden (District 3, Southern Oregon); Andrew Welle of Our Children’s Trust; Melissa Martin of the Oregon Coalition for an Environmental Rights Amendment (OCERA); Reverend Mark Knutson, pastor at Augustana Lutheran Church in Portland; and Jeff Hammarlund, EMO Creation Justice Committee member, OCERA Strategy Team member, and semi-retired professor of energy and climate policy at PSU.

2) Register for Interfaith Advocacy Day on April 29.

On behalf of EMO, the 18 local Earth Summit hubs, and our amazing partners, thank you for playing your part in this community of "love in action." We look forward to staying connected with you!

If you plan to post on social media (or already did) about the Earth Summit, please tag us on Instagram @ecumenicaloregon or Facebook @emoregon.
