Hello everybody!
We have a couple of opportunities this week on our journey through Advent. There are two special times this week to be embraced by God’s mercy through the Sacrament of Reconciliation following daily mass on Wednesday and in the evening on Thursday. Our all ages Gingerbread making event is also on Wednesday evening. In addition, will begin our first phase of the special grant program to enhance children’s participation in the liturgy at the 11:00 a.m. mass on Sunday.
At that mass, I will also be celebrating my 20th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood of Jesus Christ., which took place on December 11, 2004. We will have some special guests at that mass and there will be brunch served in the Celtic Center following to continue the celebration. It is hard to fathom that it’s been 20 years, but I am grateful beyond words for God’s grace in my life. That grace has manifested in the love, prayers, and support of you and so many as I have sought to serve to the best of my ability that portion of the Lord’s vineyard entrusted to me and to all of us together. Thank you and thanks be to God!
I also want to thank you for your generosity to our Angel Tree this year and express my appreciation to Kerri Boytis and all the volunteers who coordinated this effort! Nearly $25,000 raised in gift cards and cash donations will help people in need this Christmas season through our partnership with St. Vincent de Paul, Eastern Area Community Ministries, Sister Visitor Center, and Centro Latino. Thank you!
Come, Lord Jesus! Come!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
