“I came to Samaritan House because of an abusive relationship. My three children came with me.”
"So, the trauma with my children out of this whole situation, they were all very confused. They lash out in anger because that’s the easiest emotion to get out, especially my oldest. He had hands on quite a bit and then other times they would just shut down. It was emotionally hard on me as a parent.”
“Through hard times, especially trauma, you’re scared to leave, as I was, but at the end of the day, it was the best decision I made for myself and my children, but it was also the hardest thing I’ve had to do.”
“So through the support from Samaritan House … I’m feeling like I’m getting my life back together. I know I can do it on my own. It’s difficult just to be a parent in general, but having to go through that … "
"Having the support here, getting your strength back, having people to talk to, to get through things, they understand you. It makes you feel like you can do like anything. Yah, I matter!”
