THIS WEEK AT THE CREEK

April 21, 2025

**ATTENTION PARENTS**

As we approach the final two weeks of the school year, the attendance password for over the phone check outs will no longer be accepted d May 12th through May 23rd. This change is being implemented to ensure the safety and security of all students, as well as to help us manage the significantly increased volume of phone calls and traffic in the front office. We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain a safe and orderly environment during these busy final days of school.

Dear Willowcreek Families,

As the year near it's end, I would like to thank you for your incredible support! I also want to share some key information about upcoming end-of-level assessments.

Our mission at WMS is: "We Inspire, We Learn, We Belong" to help us live our mission, we are engaged in pursuing our school's vision statement which reads: “At Willowcreek Middle School, we are committed to achieving academic excellence and fostering a supportive community where all are empowered to learn, grow, and succeed.”

Your partnership is vital to achieving the school's potential as well as the potential of your students. In recent years, we have noticed a concerning trend of reduced effort on these important assessments. Please know that Willowcreek, Alpine School District, and The State Office of Education rely on this data to make crucial decisions about our school's future. When students don't give an honest effort on these assessments, the inaccurate data impacts our ability to improve.

I am asking for your help to build a positive attitude towards these assessments. Please talk to your children about the test's importance and your students individual effort. These tests, especially the Aspire, help prepare them for future assessments like the ACT and even provide a predictive ACT score – effort now matters!

Here are a few ways you can support your child:

  1. Encourage healthy habits: rest, nutritious food, and exercise.
  2. Ensure their Chromebook is charged and working.
  3. Please have them bring wired headphones if possible (we can provide them if needed).

Let's remind our students that learning is a journey, and effort always matters. Your encouragement makes a real difference.

Thank you again for your partnership in your child's education.
