Important Information for Senior Parents!

December College Counseling Newsletter

This week seniors were emailed the December College Counseling Newsletter, which features very important information and to-do's for seniors applying to colleges. Please click here for the newsletter.

FAFSA Help Night - January 8

Seniors and their families are invited to attend our FAFSA Help Night on January 8 from 5-7 pm in the cafeteria. There is no formal presentation, but there will be professionals from INvestEd Indiana to answer any questions you have. There will also be translation assistance available for Spanish speaking families.

Many colleges have their own priority deadlines for the FAFSA. We strongly encourage families to attend this event to ensure all deadlines are met. Students and parent(s) should have their FSA ID created at least five days prior to this event.

Cap & Gown Orders

Seniors are asked to turn in their cap/gown and graduation product order forms and deposits in the cafeteria during lunch periods. Or, you can place orders online through Herff Jones using promo code 2025GRAD.

Please contact Abbey Saurine at asaurine@bishopchatard.org for questions or assistance.

Indiana Youth Rally & Mass for Life

BCHS students will have the opportunity to join high school students from across the state in standing up for the pro-life cause on Wednesday, January, 22 at the Indiana Youth Rally & Mass for Life. Watch for an opportunity to register soon. Contact Matt Hilton with any questions.

Brooke Nichole Lahr Scholarship for International Missions Work

The Brooke Nichole Lahr Scholarship for International Missions, an Advisor Fund through the Indianapolis Archdiocese, supports young adults in funding their first mission trip abroad. Established by friends and family of Brooke Nichole Lahr, a St. Gabriel Church parishioner, the fund honors her legacy by enabling others to continue her work. Since its inception in 2014, the scholarship has helped 66 young adults embark on their first international mission trips.

Click here to learn more about Brooke's mission and to apply for the scholarship. Scholarships are need-based and intended to supplement, not fully cover, trip costs. Applicants must be 15–24 years old and planning their first mission trip. The application deadline is January 20, 2025.

For more information, please contact Kimberly Pohovey in the Office of Stewardship and Development at the Archdiocese of Indianapolis at kpohovey@archindy.org or 317-236-1568.
