The CITGO #RoadToBoston is BACK, which means race day is right around the corner!


Runners can expect Poland Spring Natural Spring Water and Gatorade stations to be set up along the course at every mile beginning at mile two. There will also be three Maurten Hydrogel stations located at mile 11.8, mile 17, and at mile 21.5. If all of these fluids are worrying you, don’t stress, as there will be toilets at every water station, all 26 medical stations, and at additional locations along the course.

Submit your application for B.A.A. Gives Back Grants until March 6th! Through this program, the B.A.A. awards monetary grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 through a competitive application process open to all nonprofit organizations that meet the following criteria:



  • Organization is a registered 501(c)(3) or a public agency.
  • Organization is not political.
  • Organization's program advances the B.A.A.'s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, especially running, in order to build healthy communities. 
  • Organization is located in and serves residents of Massachusetts.

Help make a difference and join the Boston Marathon Climate Crew!


Support the Boston Marathon’s sustainability initiatives and make a difference as part of the inaugural Climate Crew team – open to 100 Boston Marathoners for this year’s race.

  • A pre-race virtual meet & greet and race day overview with a Boston Marathon icon 
  • Dedicated bib number pick-up opportunity at the Bank of America Boston Marathon Expo 
  • Boston Climate Crew themed race-day item and Climate Crew emblem on bib number 
  • Opportunity to participate in a shakeout run led by a Boston Marathon icon on race weekend 
  • Special Boston Climate Crew transportation to Athletes’ Village 
  • Special Boston Climate Crew indoor space in Athletes’ Village 
  • Sustainability-focused commemorative gift 


Athletes who are part of the Climate Crew pledge to fundraise a minimum of $1,500 which will go towards supporting the Boston Marathon’s ongoing sustainability initiatives. This includes reducing the carbon footprint of the event by way of R.E.C. purchases or carbon offsetting (under guidance of Schneider Electric and Blue Strike Environmental), and/or purchases of reusable or sustainability focused products or services.
