Signs of Spring around the sanctuary....🌱

Muddy snouts abound! Spring thaw means the pastures are ripe for rootin' for Arnold and his pig friends.

Thanks to plentiful sunshine, outdoor pool season has started for the goat herd, who love lounging in the sun-warmed straw.

Warmer temps mean more sunshine and fresh air for our bird barn residents, who are stretchin’ their legs while still staying safe from avian flu. Hens Xena and Sable enjoy exploring together.

New buds and green shoots are showing (and growing!) by the day, sprouting up in the sanctuary’s garden beds, pastures and woodlands.

Heartland’s therapy program continues to grow and glow

Another spot of growth this spring: Heartland's therapy program! We are in the process of hiring more therapists this year to keep up with the interest and needs of the community. In addition, we now have four new private dome spaces located around the property for one-on-one therapy sessions.

As warmer weather approaches, our therapy team is looking forward to more time in the pasture with the residents, appreciating the renewal that comes in spring and all the beauty it brings.🌼

Visit our sanctuary this spring: Public tours are now open!

Join us for a tour of our beautiful sanctuary in Stoughton! Public tours of the sanctuary are offered on one Saturday afternoon per month (April - October). Public tours are 90 minutes and are for ages 5 and up. The fee is $15/person and all guests (including kids 5 and older) must be registered one at a time. All guests must sign our visitor waiver before arriving at the sanctuary (parents sign on behalf of their children). Please note that public tours involve a lot of walking, talking and manure. 🙂 We want everyone to have a fun, enjoyable and safe experience while visiting the sanctuary, and we’ve found that children do best with appropriate adult support.

Heartland Stable Supporters, we can’t do it without you!

We are so grateful to have 250 amazing monthly donors supporting our sanctuary and providing consistent donations we can count on each month! Our Stable Supporters are truly the reason we are able to continue our important work for animals and people.

Thank you IBEW 159 electrician Mitch!

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to IBEW 159 electrician Mitch Johnson for completing a second round of donated electrical work for the sanctuary! Mitch generously installed outdoor lighting at our Upper Campus as well as the Main Barn to help humans navigate the parking areas more safely and easily in the dark. We appreciate you and all you do for animals and people, Mitch and IBEW 159! 🙌
