Large Scale Limited

So, what’s a train show without a train ride? We thought the same thing. So, join us on Sunday morning, May 4, at Springfield Union Station for a CTrail train ride from Springfield to Hartford and return.

The train leaves Springfield at 10:00 am. We ride to Hartford, change trains for the ride back to Springfield, arriving back at Union Station at 11:38 am.

** Please note: passengers must be in Union Station by 9:30 am for check-in **

It's a beautiful ride, and it's fun! Just $5.00, and children two and under ride free.

The Large Scale Limited is a joint effort of the Amherst Railway Society, CTrail, and Springfield Union Station.

Going for a record

The New Hampshire Garden Railway Society is going to attempt to set up the largest indoor G-scale model railroad - ever - at the Northeast Large Scale Train Show.

How big? - you say. Well, we will just have to wait and see. But, with the show moving to the Better Living Center, there is plenty of room for a big railroad.

Let's see if they can pull it off.

Kids Running Trains

It's fun to watch model trains operate. It's waaaay more fun to actually operate your own train. And, kids can do just that at the Large Scale Train Show.

Look for the Kids Creek Railroad exhibit in the Better Living Center.

Nancy Norris - garden railroad designer

And, there is a lot to learn at the Large Scale Show, too. Everything from how to design a garden railroad to how to run trains with battery power to product demos by manufacturers.

In fact, if there is something you want to know about model railroads, there is probably somebody at the show that knows how to do it.

The Raffle - at the Large Scale Show

It's a Big Deal! Literally. Over $4000 worth of large scale model railroad gear is up for grabs at the Large Scale Train Show Raffle Table.

A small investment could yield a big return.
