What's Cool in Our Schools

Superintendent Beamon Steps out of the Office and Onto the Baseball Field

Our very own Superintendent Beamon, was invited to throw the first pitch at Seminole High's baseball game. She was surprised with a custom jersey that featured the old Seminole High logo as a tribute to her father who once played baseball for the school. As a fun fact, our Superintendent's husband also played baseball at Seminole High. The crowd cheered enthusiastically, and she pitched like a pro!

Milwee Spartan Girl's Engineering Breakfast

Milwee Middle School Spartan scholars recently met for a working breakfast with business partners Burns and McDonnell to create transmission lines! This activity encouraged clear communication skills as the Transmission Design Engineer needs to convey detailed instructions to the construction team for the building of the lines.

Collaboration and listening skills are paramount to ensure that the building is identical to the model design. Go Spartans!

Red Bug Elementary Student Becomes Junior Deputy for a Day

Emily, a Red Bug Elementary student, spent her Red Bug tickets to be a Junior Deputy for the day!

To reward students for good behavior, teachers and staff have the option to give students Red Bug tickets to show students that "BUGS" behavior pays off.

Emily walked the campus with Deputy Mac and made sure all the doors were locked, and all students were safe! Nice work, Junior Deputy Emily!

Hamilton First-Graders Innovate with Water Filters

First-grade innovators at Hamilton Elementary are tackling real-world problems!

They have begun studying the impacts of pollution. Putting their knowledge to good use, students have begun engineering water filters. It's amazing to see our students find solutions to issues affecting people right here in Seminole County.

Wicklow Explorers Host Bike Rodeo

Students had a wheely great time at Wicklow Elementary's Bike Rodeo. They had the opportunity to master obstacle courses and learn bike safety.

Students pedaled their way to fun and confidence on two wheels.

When asked about her favorite part of being a principal, she replied, “The opportunity to build meaningful relationships and foster growth in both students and adults. I am passionate about supporting academic and social-emotional development, creating a community of learners who are connected, engaged, and empowered to succeed together.
