Principal's Message

Dear Miramonte Community,

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the recent passing of students within our district. These tragic losses at Acalanes, Las Lomas and Campolindo are being deeply felt across the entire AUHSD community.

We recognize that events like these can be incredibly difficult for both students and families, often bringing up a wide range of emotions. Please know that our counseling and wellness teams are here to provide support and offer a safe space for students who may need to talk or process their feelings.

Our hearts are with the families affected during this profoundly difficult time. As a community, we will continue to lean on one another, and offer care, compassion, and support to all who are grieving.

Mr. Ben Campopiano

Parents' Club Message

Happy Friday Miramonte Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Wednesday’s Parent Club meeting, and a special thank you to Associate Superintendent John Walker for his engaging presentations on the Local Control and Accountability Plan and Artificial Intelligence in AUHSD. Both topics sparked great interest, and it quickly became clear we didn’t allow nearly enough time—next time, we’ll host them separately to give each the attention they deserve! If you missed it, you can view the slides and we’re excited to welcome Mr. Walker back in October to continue the important conversation around AI guidance and its evolving role in education. He also encourages anyone with questions to reach out directly.

Don’t miss Hadestown this weekend—our amazingly talented Musical Theater and Stagecraft students have been working so hard to bring this incredible production to life! It’s going to be a fantastic show, and a great way to support our students and all the creativity, teamwork, and heart they’ve poured into it. Grab your tickets and join in on a super fun night of entertainment!

Wellness Center

With only 6 weeks of school left, students are beginning to anticipate the end of the school year. This anticipation can bring out so many different emotions for kids-some good and some that are troubling. This is a good time to remind your students that the Wellness Center is a resource on campus that is available to everyone. Students may drop in during class time and take 15-20 minutes to regroup and destress so that they can get back on track and get back to learning. Students can sign in and engage with wellness staff, write in a journal, mindfully color, or just take some time to breathe. There are many resources available. After taking a break, kids head back to class and wellness staff will let their teacher know they are on their way. If a student needs a higher level of support, they can meet with a wellness support counselor and receive short term counseling services as needed.

Next Friday, April 25, Wellness will host a spring fling during lunch with therapy dogs, piano playing, and tile painting! Please encourage your students to stop by and help finish the Student Union tile mosaic. Have a wonderful weekend and Go Mats!

Visual & Performing Arts News

OPENING NIGHT IS TONIGHT!!  Miramonte's Theater and Music Departments will present Hadestown: Teen Edition!⁣    ⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣Hadestown: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown (winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards, including Best New Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album), modified for performance by teen actors for family audiences.⁣

This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone – Hadestown: Teen Edition invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.

Don’t wait for the fates to decide—purchase your tickets here for TONIGHT, Saturday, April 19, Thursday, April 24, or Friday, April 25! All shows start at 7:00 p.m.
