Senior Nutrition Program at the

Senior Center


Lunches will be served at the Senior Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12:00pm. The suggested donation is $5.00 those 65 & up, $6.50 for those under 65.


Reservations are required at least 24-hours in advance.

Adult ping pong will meet at the Senior Center will meet on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30pm. It is recommended that all participants are fully vaccinated.  


Anyone not vaccinated can participate but must wear a mask.

Connecticut Energy Assistance Available


Connecticut Energy Assistance Available Fuel assistance applications are currently being taken for fuel deliveries made between November 1, 2024 and April 1, 2025. Households heating with electric and households with heat included in rent are also eligible to apply.


You may qualify for fuel assistance if your income is under -

(Household size/Annual Income):

2/$59,507, 3/$73,509, 4/$87,751



Those who participate in one or more of the following benefit programs will automatically be considered income eligible for energy assistance;

-Temporary Family Assistance (TFA)

-State supplement to the Aged, Blind, and Disabled

-Refugee cash assistance program

-Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

-Supplemental Security income (SSI)

SWSA Ski and Skate Sale


Find everything you need to outfit your family's winter sports needs at Salisbury Winter Sports Association's annual SWSA Ski Swap and Sale, Saturday, December 7th at the Lakeville Hose Company in Lakeville.

 

As always, the Sale will include a huge display of new winter sports equipment and clothing including ski hats, gloves, goggles, socks, as well as downhill and cross country skis boots and bindings . Snow shoes, parkas and other winter wear will also be on display at discount prices.

 

Many repeat visitors even do a bulk of their Christmas shopping there!

 

Of course, there will be the usual inventory of used equipment- skates from $2 and up, skis and snow boards starting around $50 and ski boots for $10 and up.

 

Have equipment to sell? Used eligible equipment includes downhill skis, boots and poles; cross country skis, boots and poles; ice skates, hockey equipment (but no sticks), snowboards and boots and snow shoes. No clothing please.

 

Folks can bring equipment to be sold Friday, December 6th from 4 pm to 7:00 pm. No equipment will be accepted on Saturday. The sale on Saturday will run from 8:00 - 11:00 am. From 11:00 am- noon residents can pick up their money or unsold equipment, and any money you make selling your equipment, you keep- SWSA doesn't take a commission!

 Any remaining equipment after noon Saturday will become the property of SWSA.

 

Proceeds from the sale will benefit several SWSA youth ski programs. Check SWSA’s website www.jumpfest.org for more details.

**Salisbury Housing Committee Annual Meeting

The Salisbury Housing Committee (SHC) is holding its annual meeting to elect officers for the coming year on Wednesday, December 4th at 5:00pm, by Zoom. Members of the public are invited to attend this meeting and may submit nominees for the Board before the meeting. Nominations may be made to SHC, PO Box 10, Salisbury. The Zoom address will be available at salisburycthousing.org after December 1. SHC is the proprietor of affordable rental units located in Salisbury. Anyone interested in renting at any SHC location should call Tammy Broderick at 860-435-0049.
